friendly reminder to never click unsolicited links, esp from anonymous tumblr asks ^-^ i searched the string after the ? and found the app that way, but i also found a heckton of other tumblr users that have gotten this exact same message. in this case the link itself is safe (it just leads to the google play store page for the E-Play app) but i highly suspect the app itself is No Good :/ better safe than sorry!!

geckos can stick to walls and (some! not all!) other surfaces using something called Van der Waals force, which is very hard to describe but is basically a form of electromagnetism. they can literally control the polarity of the molecules in their toesies to align with that of the surface they're trying to cling to!!

you get one of my favourite bird facts!! so, we all know birds are reptiles, right? bc birds are totally reptiles. and if you don't think birds are reptiles, then you must think crocodilians aren't reptiles either. observe:

for anyone who doesn't know how to read a phylogeny tree, what this basically shows is that birds (where it says wild turkey/chicken/zebra finch) have a more recent common ancestor with crocodilians (alligators, crocodiles, gharials, et al.), than turtles, who are also more closely related (split off from their shared ancestor more recently) to birds than lizards, geckos, snakes, etc. so either birds are reptiles, or crocodiles aren't. if you want to learn more abt this, you should def watch this vid by Clint's Reptiles (fantastic channel): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yC99nXth0I
