Accidental Awakening

“You know, no one bothered me this much when I was dead.”

“Then you should have stayed dead. Simple as that,” I commented, throwing my torn and bloody jacket over the back of one of the wooden chairs. Ashley turned to glare at me, but I just raised my hands. “It wasn’t my fault you decided to haunt me.” 

“You were the one who disturbed my grave!” 

I rolled my eyes and trudged out of the dining room into the kitchen. “Please, sweetheart, it really wasn’t my fault. I was pushed.”

Ashley folded her arms, the rope line along her neck sparking due to her anger. “You activated me, and now I’m stuck here. Why couldn’t your friends have pushed you the other way?” 

“Well, why don’t you just go back? Just go back to your home 6 feet under and we’ll both move on.”

Her expression darkened. “It’s not that easy.”

I laughed and opened the fridge. “Yeah, right.”

“I’m not some sort of genie,” she snapped, her floating blond hair draping elegantly across her shoulder. Her green eyes met mine, their color vivid compared to her wistful body. “I’m stuck here with you. Forever.”

Another sketchbook dump because: reasons.

In order: Random Fairy, Queen Bee (because more reasons), some concept art for MtUni starting with Reese, then moving on to Abi (you’ll more about them later :] ), an almost completed piece of work for my Soul Mate Trilogy (Kindred Spirit, to be specific), and - as always - some Adrien Agreste.

Laser Tag

Warning: Kissing

“3. 2. 1. Begin.”

The pounding music berated my ears as I sprinted away from the entrance. I dashed behind a wall and pressed my back against it. Smoke filled the air; Above me, green lights flashed. My heart pounded as I scanned my surroundings. Blue lights blinked across my chest, which didn’t help my vision.

There. Red vest to my left.

Raising my gun, I pulled the trigger. My laser hit the person’s vest and the wailing of it shutting down made me smile. I ducked behind another, barely missing an opposing team member’s laser. Crouching in hiding, I could tell someone was on my tail. Cassy, who was on my team, ran by, tracking down the enemy. As she passed, a red team member’s vest appeared from around a corner. I smirked. Gotcha.

After a few quick fires from my gun, I ran to the corner of the arena. From here, I could see down both sides and no one could see me unless they turned down the hall.\

“Well, hello there, babe.”

I spun around and raised my laser gun. Brawnson was leaning against the wall, looking as chill as ever, even though we were in a war zone. I narrowed my eyes into slits.

“What do you want, honey?”

He grinned and shrugged, his vest blinking the opposite color as mine. “Just thought I should take the opportunity that my girlfriend and I are alone in a corner.”

I rolled my eyes and shot him. His vest wailed and the lights turned off, but he didn’t react to it one bit.

“Get out of here while you still can,” I told him. “We’re going to beat you in this game.”

Brawnson laughed. “Can I, at least, get a kiss before I leave?”

I folded my arms, one hand holding my gun. “Can’t we save this for a different time. The care will be open at the end of the group date.”

He smirked, then stepped closer to me. “Come on, just one?”

I pushed him away playfully. “Now you’re just teasing me.”

Brawnson laughed aloud ruffled my hair. “You know you love it, though.”

Smirking, I grabbed him by the vest and pulled him in. He wrapped an arm around my waist, and despite the bulky laser tag gear. Brawnson was able to pull me close. I let my gun slip out of my hand and I allowed my fingers to curl around my boyfriend’s neck. He pulled away just enough to whisper: “Mia…”

My vest wailed. I gasped and pulled away, looking down at my dark equipment. No blue lights were on. When I looked up at Brawnson’s face, he grinned mischievously,

“Gotcha.”

The next thing I knew, I was standing alone in the corner of the laser tag arena, my cheeks burning and heart pounding. Then, it hit me. With a sly, determined smile, I picked up my dangling laser gun. My vest turned back on and I pulled the trigger of the gun, activating the laser.

“You’re going down, pretty boy.”
