This one I had to google first. What I found fitting the prompt was something among the lines of the hand of god or a king walking among the people and strike down justice among those who sinned. So uh….yeah, Justice being Justice :D
That being said, I have to put a little less present side note here, after this has now been like the third time or somthing I tripped over something alike while looking for reference and poses, be it for here or for commissions.
I wanted to give Jus some extra cool cowboy-y pose. So I went for what folks these days usually do and did the googles. Took just some scrolling to eventually trip over this thing.
From the far it looked like a cool pose with an interesting dynamic. And sure, with the back bending weirdly in a way that shouldn't be possible, but lets face it a lot of em older comic artists did the same crap on female characters when they once again couldn't deside if they rather wanna oversexualize the tits or the butt. Thus I decided that'd be still easy to work around. However, while I only actually realized it when my sketch reached the hands, the lot of you probably already recognized it on second glance with em skilled eye and stuff: Eyyyupp, your guy here encountered some rather frustratingly crappy AI-Slop. And it honestly saddens me that I'm proably right to assume: Ain't gonna be the only one of those in my Google search.
Firstly because it annoys me,
secondly as a warning for y'all to second check, when you use references before you just start drawing
and third to give everybody some awareness how much that garbage industry is able to mess with the art community.
I for myself, kept the pose cause the sketch was halfway done and I'm too stubborn, so I simply fixed it up in a way that it doesn't bend physics all the way into the dumpster. However I'm doing this stuff for a while now. Good enough that I simpy have the skills to do so. But what if I didn't? Exchange me with your favorite bean who currently is learning how to draw, that tries to understand anatomy and physics and how fabric fall and all that jazz by observing a reference and afterwards tries to copy it. Do so and we have a much more grim and frustrating scenario.
Grim, frustrating and sad enough hopefully that some of you folks reading this - while you were simply not aware of the damage AI does to our creativity and sence to reality and use that stuff without that second thought - you are getting some wake up call to stop using AI or to not even start in the first place. And sure, I'm just some dummy on the internet, you don't needa care about too much. I don't ask you, to do such a thing for me. I ask you to do it for your younger sibling; for your child that just started to find joy in mushing paint on a sheet of paper; for your friend who has just picked up a pencil and tries to approach the topic of creating art by doodling stuff. For somebody you love. Give them the chance to be able to learn this stuff the right way - and don't use AI! And nightshade your art while you're at it.
You'd also piss off a lot of rich people like that, equivalent to flipping em the bird. So, win - win ;)
