In my head, Clown High exists as an almost sister school to Monster High. Clowns arent human, theyre their own creatures. Each clown in Clown High is a specific species of clown, August is an Auguste clown, Perry is a Pierrot and Penny is a Killer Clown (yes that is its own species). There are multiple of each species ofc, there are fusions of species (like freaky fusion) its like, just for funzies. clown society is very chaotic.

As for August herself, she comes from a long line of auguste clowns, her family is even pretty famous due to her three uncles. shes about 17 in clown years and shes studying the arts of slapstick and comedic timing. she wants to grow up to continue on in her uncles' footsteps. Her trumpet tail allows for music related jokes or sound effects to a punchline.

She doesn't have too many friends at school, which she is a little concerned means that nobody likes her, when in reality a lot of others are just too star struck to approach her. Her biggest rival is a whiteface clown who is hellbent on being the most beautiful and majestic clown in school.
