Why does Adidas have different logos?

As Adidas progresses from a sports shoemaker to a full-fledged company, with a diverse set of sportswear shoes, apparel, and accessories, it created a Trefoil logo becoming a long live feature from 1971 till now---showing the stability of trefoil---across many product lines. In between Adidas has ventured on to make the Mountain/Performance Line logo in 1990, crafted by creative director Peter Moore and still come handy. Clearing the confusion that lets us ask why does Adidas has different logos.
