this is EXACTLY how I imagine it.

Helex has no idea if he's doing it wrong or right but he doesn't want to hurt them either so he's holding them at a distance from him. He isn't sure what to do with them other than bring them back but he sure as hell does NOT want to hurt the kid. The guy is so unsure.

Accurate Vos reaction, he loves seeing the guy look dumb. Tesarus not expecting Vos' demonic laughter... and Kaon, Kaon is holding it back. But as a concerned crew member, he kinda does want to break it to Helex.

Side thought -> I'm gonna be real but I've genuinely contemplated writing transformers fics just because of how much I adore your writing!! I gotta buckle down and follow one of the series to study because omg.. the amount of lore 😟

OMG I AM SO HAPPY I COULD INSPIRE YOU!!! if you need help with lore or writing, i'm more than willing to help out! knowing my writing inspires others to write is the greatest compliment ever.

EASY probably the Clueless Child series with the DJD. its one of the longer works i intend on wanting to finish as quick as i can but i just don't seem to have the motivation nowadays!

my intent is to take it forward without making the DJD go soft per say, as in, their 'Decepticon code' remains unwavering and their operations do not cease even after the adoption. but i don't think they would be terrible at looking after a kid either. insensitive, yes but not downright abusive. there will be toxicity, its a given with the DJD and especially Tarn. him and Kaon are gonna be so manipulative. think the Zoldyck family from HxH except less abusive.

i like the concept of platonic groups adopting kids more than romantic couples for some odd reason. its supposed to be something like a slice-of-life fic that just follows the DJD and their adopted sparkling, exploring the dynamics between the DJD and the relationship they'd have with their kid: light hearted comedy but with a few dark scenes because this is war after all, there's going to be triggering mentions of violence.

i also do want to explore the indoctrination the sparkling would go through in the hands of the DJD, like their moral code would be so twisted. Tarn and the others are well aware that they are deviants even within the Decepticons but Tarn is really the only one who's somewhat ashamed of it, looking away when his team commits atrocities instead of stopping them because the fact is that he enjoys it. but the sparkling would have no idea that what their caretakers do is depraved in any sense of the word, it would even be normalized to them.

the sparkling would grow up with them on the ship isolated from rest of the world for the most part because they only ever really make stops on other planets to restock supplies or for their 'hunt' and as inexperienced as they are with parenting, i know for a fact that Tarn would know better than to bring non-combatant into a hunt. at least, until he gets the chance to train the kid who would be somewhat accustomed to seeing their depravity by then. their isolation would also make them think that what the DJD does is 'acceptable' and not wrong in anyway because they never see any pushback against it.

while they may not have sadistic tendencies like their parents, they'd be so apathetic even if they are an expressive bot. an unsettling reader-insert with their own quirks. i'm also damn sure Tarn is gonna teach 'em how to beat the shit out of a mech beautifully. i wanna flush out the relationship they have with the DJD before i move into the real plot here.

Tarn might even take them to be his successor. depending on how i decide to write the ending for this fic because the ending was... going to be gut-wrenching, i won't lie. but i'm terrible at endings so i might reconsider.

i will torture Tarn in ways he would have never conceived.

i don't want to make this fic crazy long either. i was thinking maybe 10 chapters at best for setting up reader's development with the DJD and then moving onto the real conflict... so overall 20 chapters. i suck at staying consistent with a series, i won't lie.

i just like the idea of them being parents, it has appeal. one of the biggest issues with writing this fic is the fact that there is so little Helex, Tesarus and Vos scenes to go off of that i need to make a lot of stuff up and try to come up with something after looking at like a grand total of five panels or something.

another kinda-of plot hole i'm trying to address is how exactly children/kids would work in this fanfic cause this is in the IDW1 universe. i don't wanna involve valveplug into this cause this is not that kind of fic. i do have ideas as to how i think sparkling production would work in a non-sexual reproductive method that does involve growth, it'll be on a more elaborated post.
