Just found your blog, it's very cool ! Since you seem to be an authority on cloisters and monks, I have a question: what's your favorite medieval monastery and why ? Have you ever been there ?

i definitely would not consider myself an authority, im just a university student with somewhat of a focus on medieval art/history
as for a favorite, for the sake of this blog in particular I’m gonna go with the classic Abbey of Cluny !! they played a hugely influencial role in medieval monasticism and a lot of the monastic life/culture I talk about here is based on the cluniacs and the Benedictine reforms that they adhered to
unfortunately I’ve never been but hopefully someday !
