4080 was good for more than just next-level Bay Area rap coverage. I'm in a reminiscent mood tonight, as it is almost my 36th born day, and I remember copping the "What A Nigga Know" 12" at Princeton Record Exchange and writing my name in the eyeball of Little Sambo. Some time around the same time, I also racked the issue of 4080 (vol 2, #6) that contained this article from my favorite come-up spot in the Village, which I miss dearly and to whose lax bag-check policy I owe a great deal of my musical education.
