my friend sent me this a while ago and I misunderstood the tweet and wrote this as a reply:
Art, still refuses to accept that he's got feelings for Patrick. Patrick will be talking to Elio about love and loving someone who doesn't reciprocate or can't reciprocate your love. They end up making out but only bc they made each other sad. Eugene will start in with the conversation bc he still isn't sure if he loved William or not but he tries to find ties to how Elio describes how he loved Oliver bc they also had a specific power dynamic and age difference going on and each of them discovered parts of their sexuality through their older partner. but he cannot really relate to what Elio says, so he pulls away from the conversation and ends up playing chess with Art while they both don't say anything worthwhile, talking about the weather and politics but not too much to give any clue on who they are as people.
