Sulu loved fencing, and he still practiced the sport in his free time aboard the Enterprise, and he was lucky enough to have found a few sparring partners. But as with any sport came the possibility of injury, which is how Sulu ended up with a sprained ankle.

It was a minor injury, and not one that hurt all that much, either. Sulu considered going to the Sickbay, but he remembered that the medical staff had their hands full with the yearly physicals right now (he'd had his the day before). From what he could tell, it seemed like the physicals would be finished in a day or two, so he opted to wait and see until then if it even needed to be seen to at all.

After all, he'd had plenty of sprains before. He iced it and secured it as needed. It wasn't too painful, and he sat during work anyway. If he were to be honest with himself, part of his hesitation about Sickbay was because he had been in the Sickbay a few weeks ago when he'd taken a spear straight through the shoulder on an away mission, and he didn't want to have to go back so soon.

So he went about his daily life as usual, trying to strike a balance between walking normally and walking without putting too much strain on his ankle at the same time as he made his way to the mess after his shift.
