Returning to the dancefloor~~
Iâve been away from Tumblr for rather a while due to life developments that Iâm not going to bore anyone with, BUT, I have decided to make a valiant return to my oldest and favouritest blog, mostly because AOU made me so damn happy.Â

[ I just took a quick look. Didnât hear your jokes or where you were going for dinner. Nope. In any case Iâm gonna pretend I know nothing so⌠]

   ⸠ââžÂ Itâs not so much that she owes him but more so that she doesnât see whatâs so bad with going out with him on one date before the two take a bit of a leave.  Nor is she doing this to make him stay and wait for her, itâs neither thought running in her mind.  Instead, she was feeling lonely, more than a bit restless and she wanted to see him along with spending some quality time.  If it ends up involving good food and a little dressing up, so be it.  She has nothing against showing him off, he is, after all, one of the more handsome Avenger with a great body too.  Donât forget that personality either. â
I know I donât owe you owe you, but I want to give you something you want. Something you asked for.
  âžÂ Smooth Rhodey, real smooth.  She canât help but to love the joke despite how lame it was. â
Wouldnât they love the sight of that? But no, I decided traveling when not wanting to be bothered would make most sense in a darker version of my uniform.Â
  âžÂ Carol has seen Rhodey perform selfless act after selfless act.  His support of letting her go to space is one of these things.  She knows well that he cares for her in the same way she cares for him and despite the words that could essentially tear them apart, he supported her and that is more than she could ever ask for.  Sheâs been around many wonderful and supportive people since âawakeningâ from her memory loss.  This is why she needs to venture out and find herself and just as she was, sheâd finally arrived to his building, knocking outside his bedroom window; all while a single thought had transformed her darkened costume into the style of dress heâd asked to see her in.  Hanging up, she waits for him to open up before making a decision.  A hand runs down his chest as she contemplates. â
I suppose it all depends on what a first date with the great Lieutenant Colonel James Rhodes involves.
   âď¸Â ââžÂ She looks beautiful. The dress is better than anything his imagination could provide. Lila had always said he was isn't that imaginative with fashion, much better had holding the bags whilst she picked out something that wasn't either conservative or belonged in the 1980s. Not that his tomboy niece would be caught dead in a dress, but he figures that even she would say that Carol looks stunning. When she gets back from her trip in space, he'll have to introduce the two. Carol will be a far better influence on Lila than Tony has even been. Maybe he'll take her home to his parents too. He knows his mom would love her, his dad would probably be happy to just see him settle down. She is on him as soon as he opens the window, hand teasingly resting on his chest and making his lower brain wish that he'd agreed with her idea of a lace number. He leans in, kissing her plush pink lips as soon as they finish speaking. It was chaste and romantic, the sort of kiss that if you are lucky, you end a first date on. Yet they had mastered the kissing by now, and it felt so good to not have to sneak behind a wall or closet to kiss her. â
I'm thinking dinner. Definitely dinner. Even if you didn't show off a lace number to the citizens of New York, I want to show you off in this one to some lucky folk.Â
  âžÂ Jim's hands rests on her hips, ties now forgotten as he continues to admire her beauty and remember just how lucky he was to be getting this. He also knows he'd have to saviour this night and whatever she gifts him with, as who knows how long he'll have to rely on his imagination to keep him going. He is going to miss her, not as much as Jessica, but enough to make him want to hold on tight for as long as possible.  â
I'm not going to lie, part of me would rather have us stay here. You do have a better imagination out of the both of us.Â
But we'll go out. Got a preference on the food?
"I know right? Rhodey, I was telling them about Star Trek and that had no idea. They had that amazing tech, I called Pepper from up there without worrying about signal or anything, and they donât have quality TV shows. Oh yeah, Avengers business, dealing with the company, the usual for me. You know, Iâll make sure that she says yes. Didnât know that you were planning to go that far, I thought Europe would be more of your thing.â
"Aww, a special invitation? For me? How can I say no? Itâs a relief to hear that Iâve been messed, but then again, that doesnât surprise me. My presence is indeed brightening up this room."
"Wait you called Pepper but you didn't call me? I thought we were friends, T. Best friends." He was teasing mostly, but there is a small pang of sadness that Tony didn't call him. "Also, you're saying that they don't know about Star Trek? None of them?! Isn't Star Lord or whatever from Earth?!"
"Europe's okay, but the beaches aren't as nice. I want to sit around with a drink in a coconut shell or whatever enjoying the warm sun and gentle breeze. No distractions. Plus, the flight is longer so if I'm drafted in, I get more time to relax." He rolled his eyes as Tony's ego jumped out and did a double flip. "I'm inviting you along so I can repeatedly dunk you in the sea and beat you at every water sport going."
"Like you ever cared about being unwelcome."
"Iâm just in the shop tinkering. Come on in when you get here."
"I do. Unlike you, I'm polite."
"Yeah sure, I'll leave my suit at the door."

"He probably doesn't think he needs to apologise, but I know him well enough to know that he probably does."
    He smirked, holding his hand out to the other man. "Jim Rhodes, Warââ Iron Patriot. You've got to be Peter Quill, right?Â
