The thing I don't fw about march eridan is the fact that the entire gimmick is really just "haha the joke is masculine character forced to look feminine because men looking feminine is soooo funny lol!!" Like I know for a fact that was the original concept for it. "Haha guys look at how funny this art is of eridan dressing asa GIRL this is so SILLY because eridan is MALE" And like people drawing it now do claim that like "no I actually do headcanon eridan as transfeminine it's not a joke" when they're clearly still treating it as nothing more than a joke. And a transmisogynistic one at that too. You headcanon them as transfem but only in the month of march? You headcanon them as transfem but only in that stupid objectifying ass outfit? Like I'm fine with transfem eridan idrc just take it seriously instead of the fucking "march eridan" joke

Something interesting to me how the whole deal with Jesper's magic and his dad, like

"guy moves from a place extremely bigoted against a group to a country very accepting of that group, marries a woman from that group, has a kid who also belongs to that group, and is uneasy about the kid or mother expressing their belonging to it around him but 'allows' it until the mother dies, at which point he isolates his kid completely from the group to which he belongs and teaches him to fear identifying with them"

serves as a metaphor FOR the racial aspects of his relationship with his dad (literally the same thing above except we specify that the man is white and the woman and child are both black) while the actual racial angle is totally unexplored

And one might say "well maybe they don't have racism in the grishaverse" but they DO, my evidence being 1) Inej 2) Wylan spends the entire second book experiencing microaggressions bc he's temporarily Asian, and 3) a nonzero number of those microaggressions include Jesper too in a way that specifically targets his Zemeni (aka black) identity, so don't play games with me
