ch 15 - stuck between the ones i love, and the ones i miss

Harry is, naturally, tempted to tell Ron everything the way he asked, the way he always has. About his other life in a different dimension, about being Death’s master (read: bitch), about Tom and his true identity, and how Harry desperately misses his Ron and Hermione. He wants to share, and he wants to ask; wants to know everything about soulmates and all the other things in this universe no one’s telling him about because they probably assume he already knows. But the gangly teenager in front of him, no matter how closely he resembles Harry’s ride-or-die best mate, hasn’t been through the same things over the years right by Harry’s side, and definitely doesn’t deserve to get sucked into Harry’s shitshow.

Inane question do you promote your fics on TikTok? If you do can you explain how? I know next to nothing about the TT app. Btw will we have a Dudley redemption arc in Complete Me So Incompletely?

I find CMSC Tom very sweet even though he's his own warning. And although he does deserve Harry's wariness and hostility at least for now, I also am getting fond of him damn it.

I love how you made him creepily sweet.

I am guessing they are in year 5 now? And that disastrous kiss with Cho won't happen this time around as Tom would declare slaughter...

I do promote them there, actually! It's the most basic of the basic formats tho, since I can't for the life of me figure out how to make edits etc. Anyway, here's my process:

Screenshot the parts of a fic you want to include in the video. Hot tip to make it rather short, as otherwise it won't actually show because tiktok sucks. I usually grab a bit, then crop it on my phone to make it short and sweet, just a couple of sentences really.

Then, prepare to make a new post on tiktok (just click the +), choose the option for "photo" - it should be the automatic choice tiktok makes for you.

From there, include the screenshots you want in the order you want them, and pick a song. You pick a song at the top, just search like normal.

Next step, give it a title and description and hashtags, tiktok will suggest some when you start typing thankfully, rather similar to ao3 tagging.

Post. Angst over views and interactions and hope people are nice (which they generally are in my experience).

About cmsi, well... any potential Dudley-redemption will be purely accidental, I can tell you that much. It has been so far, after all 👀

Tom is the sweetest little creep of all time and I adore him in all his awfulness. I just also believe in actions having consequences, and in this case, Harry is both the consequences and the eventual reward for (somewhat) improved behaviour. Frankly, Tom is getting off pretty lightly, and that's only because I love that little psycho.

(I am also firmly in the camp of Harry-Potter-can-do-no-wrong, even when he's objectively being an asshole. He's my boo and he can do what he wants 👼)

They are indeed heading into year 5! Some things will be the same as in the books, with minor tweaks, and some things will be unique to this AU 🫶

Also these emojis look ugly af on my computer, guess we'll see how it turns out once I hit the 'post' button.

Since you have Swedish references in CMSI, I was wondering if yiu hv read Let The Right One In? That book gives me Diary Tom X Harry vibes.

Also I kinda feel bad for Tom in CMSI rn but cant really blame Harry being a bit "mean" to him as Tom, before he gained his body and lost his memories did kill that universes Harry....

I have, actually! It's about 20 years ago at this point though (yikes), so I only remember the bare bones of it tbh. I remember loving it tho, as well as the author's other works! 👌

I know we all love our resident awful gremlin, but let's also remember Harry 1) cannot hear Tom's internal monologue like we can, 2) is a dick to people he doesn't like in canon, and 3) Tom kinda deserves to work uphill for all his actual sins 🫶

It's going to take a while, but a happy ending with quite a bit of fluff is, as always, guaranteed 😌🫶
