Ren grit his teeth, his grip on the gun in his hands faltering for a second. He didn't want to admit the fool in front of him had a point.

"Yes, this is what he ordered. But that's not the only reason. I hate you. Seeing your stupid face makes me sick!"

The time isn’t too bad....

Yui assures herself as she hops off the bus and begins the trek back home with the sun still shining in the sky. The sky slowly turning to hues of orange as night began to creep over Inaba as she stared at her phone briefly, answering a few messages before pocketing it.

She was released early from her shift at the hospital and it seemed as good as time as any to just go straight home. There was a test in a few days and honestly, Yui felt a bit more tired than usual. Perhaps because of the workload along with balancing her social life with school life...And the investigation.

Either way, tonight she shouldn’t spend any time doing detours....

“...Adachi?” she calls out automatically when she spots him, “On break or working?” The question comes out flat, but at this point the man should be used to the bouts of Yui’s voice accidentally slipping to monotone when she was tired.

Ren bowed politely. He wanted to make a good first impression. “Amamiya Ren at your service, Madam. I’ve heard your research was shut down a while back. A shame, really. I’d really love to see what you would’ve come up with if given the proper resources.”

Oh, he was so adorable. Ren grinned, reaching up a leather gloved hand to caress the boy’s cheek.

“Of course it’s okay, Goro-chan. You should wear whatever clothes you feel comfortable in,” he said. Then, his grin morphed into a devious smirk. “Besides, you absolutely delicious in them~”

Grey eyes twinkled with a perverse joy. It was always so nice when someone willingly submitted to him. Of course, it wasn't like he was planning on letting her say no in the first place. It was just much easier this way.

"You've made the right decision, Sumimi~ I'm glad to have you on board," he said, reaching forward to caress her cheek. "Oh, and feel free to call me 'Ren'. Think of me as your colleague, not your boss."

Yui just continued folding cranes, a habit she's kept all throughout her teenage years.

She presses creases and flattens out the paper...Before using a dark red one to toss over at him. It's a childish gesture and completely is a hypocritical move after she retorted she wasn't a kid.
