Continuing Cnossia & Oenone thoughts...
Apollodorus' Library, 3.11.1: Menelaus had by Helen a daughter Hermione and, according to some, a son Nicostratus; and by a female slave Pieris, an Aitolian, or, according to Acusilaus, by Tereis, he had a son Megapenthes; and by a nymph Cnossia, according to Eumelus, he had a son Xenodamus.
Theoi notes Cnossia is related to Knossus in Crete. Menelaus is said to have gone to Crete whilst Paris and Helen were eloping, so presumably Xenodamus was born just before or during the war.
Apollodorus' Library, e.3.3: Menelaus having gone on a journey to Crete to perform the obsequies of his mother's father Catreus, Alexander persuaded Helen to go off with him. And she abandoned Hermione, then nine years old, and putting most of the property on board, she set sail with him by night.
All this to say, I think it'd be interesting to explore a scenario where -- after Xenodamus is born, or even when Cnossia realises she's with child -- she travels to the Troad to find Menelaus. Looking down on the battles from Ida, she finds another nymph with child.
