Just a Bit of Milk
A quick 3 card spread, painting by Walter Osborne.
I use this quick spread in situations where I feel overwhelmed, or just need a reminder for where to look for help in current predicament. Like a kitten stopping to get a sip of milk, say hi to mom, reassure that everything is in order, get reassured that everything is alright, and run along.
1. You
This card describes your own status regarding the situation in question. It’s a good time to pay attention to where in Tarot journey this card will fall - as from Fool to World, or from Ace to Ten, or from Page to King. How ready you are for what you have planned and what to look out for.
2. Your friend
Now, this could be a literal friend, a person in your life supporting you (hopefully), but also - which aspect of you own self and which strengths of your character will help you stay on track? Which part of you does this endeavor need most?
3. Your guide
A friend could be a guide, of course, but it could be someone in your life you are not that close to or some aspect of yourself that you still need to strengthen by learning more, or an area of the project where you might need some skilled, professional help.
I hope you like this spread, please remember, tarot cards should not be used as replacement for professional therapy or career advice.
