Criminal Case fanfic (AU)

P2 of 'We're All Just Guilty Until Death'

Characters: David Jeremiah Jones, Samuel King, CC suspects (mentioned), the rest of GPD

Warnings: Swearing, sn!c!d3

Jones wasn't here for revenge, once again. But man, he did enjoy seeing Samuel being small when he's the one in power now.

"I swear, David, when I get my hands on you-"

"What? Gonna get me arrested?" Jones let out a confident giggle. "Nah, you already know I have the evidence piled against you. And the right choice of death for Cathy."

Samuel hated ranting on the phone. What's worse is that he's ranting on the phone with a maniac who's about to ruin his life.

"See, the thing is, Adam knows too much about us. And we're trying to keep it on the low. The only one who can compete the job like before... is you. It's either Adam or Cathy. I better see his dead body when me and June are investigating."

"Leave. Her. Out of this, you damn rat."

"Then leave the Crimson Order off the news. Till Elections Day, 'sir'."

Phone clicked off.

Samuel had to really hurry since the locals were planning on throwing the Elections Day for Howard Johnson and Martha Price. Only difference is that maybe Howard is also in the Crimson Order. Like his damn mom.

Samuel finished his letter to Donna and had to hurry to the Mayor's office.

Chief King knew that he was fucked. There's no way June won't find him. And the worse thing is that the Crimson Order leader was right next to him on the investigation.

And he hated it.

He hated how he was insulting the new Crimson Order leader this whole time and didn't know it. He knew that Jones would easily get away with this and would hurt anyone if things don't go his way.

Door opens into his office. It's June and Jones.

As June walked into the office to point to Samuel as the killer, Jones tagged along behind and was dumb enough to not know. He was... an incredible actor.

As the whole conversation acted out (Case 51 arrest) the chief pulls a gun onto his head.

"Wh... what are you doing?!" Jones looked scared and held his hand up to try to ease the chief from the gun. "Put... down the gun. Please, Chief?"

"You'll understand why I'm doing this... in time." Chief looked into the real killer's eyes for one last time. He stared at those two empty spheres of lies he called eyes. And those eyes belonged to Adam, to the other victims and to his OWN killer. The REAL killer. "I have... no other choice."

"Of course you have a choice! There's always a choice!" June looked just as scared, only he wasn't acting. He didn't know what was going on behind closed doors. He didn't know. "Chief! Put the gun down! ...Please!" All he could do was choke his sobs in fear.

Chief King hated that he is losing, but was sorry that June had to witness this. Without a final feeling of victory, he turned his eyes away from Jones and onto June with tears falling out. "Goodbye, Captain Shiloh. Working with you has been my greatest honor."

And with that, a sound of the firing bullet ran through the whole station.

After the condolences and apologies for Samuel's grave, Jones was alone, staring at it. What's under 6 feet, Jones stared down into.

With a smile.

Jones wasn't here for revenge, once again. But man, he did enjoy seeing Samuel being small when he's the one in power now.

Serena Johnson appears behind Jones. "So... what now?"

Jones was quiet for a minute, then turned to Serena.

"Now we just wait and see if this will cause a war."

"What? But-"

"But nothing, Serena. You've been useful enough by giving me info about Adam. Now, it's done. So go on with your life until further notice. Not like you have much time left anyway."

And with leaving a baffled Serena, Jones walked away.

As he returned to GPD, he looked at how desperately angry June was.

"No. No, this can't be fucking happening! We can't just sit here and look at King's grave!"

Grace looked down in despair. "It's hard to believe he would do something like this..."

Ramirez was letting spit and tears getting everywhere on his clothes. "CH-CHIEF KING WOULD NEVER DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS! HE'S HE'S BEEN ONE OF THE BEST PEOPLE HERERERE!!!!!"

Nathan comforted Ramirez. "We know, Ramirez. And that's why we plan on digging deeper."

Cathy was at the brink of tears. "June, please! My grandfather would never do something like this! He has to have some sort of explanation... just... I-I need to... be alone!!" And with that, Cathy left as Alex called for her.

Alex, with a defeated response for Cathy's return, started to feel dull. "Cathy's really been upset about this. We gotta find what's been missing!"

June looked around the group with a tiny chance of hope in his voice; "Yes, we're gonna find what it is. We owe it all to Cathy... and to King."

Jones was eavesdropping from behind a tree to hear the conversation. And after it was done, a chuckling sigh came out.

"Oh, June. Good luck trying to catch me."

I just realized

In a normal AU, my player and Jones are all silly and lovey-dovey and cute af, good for them !!

But in Crim!Jones au, it's toxic because of how Jones would probably try and gaslight my player to keep him from finding the truth when it's gonna come to him eventually !

Such a sad thing about these AUs 😈

"You're a sick man, David. A pathetic, twisted, man." June hissed harshly to the man he found out was the leader of their enemy clan. Of his enemy clan. He felt like he had been used all over again.

"I guess you could say that, Major. But I don't believe you'll be able to make it out of this one safely." David took many steps towards him.

"Wh- what are you doing?! Stay back! June was about to whip his gun out, but a feeling of hesitation washed over him. Was he really gonna shoot someone who was close to him? Someone he loved?

"... You can't do it, can you?" David took many more steps towards him until they were only a few inches apart. "I'd say you're the sick one. Choosing your job over your best friend. But that's okay." He slammed June against the wall, pinning his hands to each side of his head. The younger one was scared and didn't know what to do.

"It's what Chief King would've wanted out of his little favorite officer."

A log was slammed into his face.

He wiped all the blood leaking from his nose, seeing all starting to run down to his shirt. His henchmen stared in complete shock that he has barely any reaction to what happened.

The man scrambled into a corner, his anger and fear written all over every bit of his movement.

David eyed down at his next pray as he loudly, yet calmly made his new order to his people.

"Kill him."
