i swear to any god out there that if charlie cox wins best voice acting over ben starr i will lose my entire mind 😭

i'm not saying that charlie doesn't deserve it for a good performance but i'd rather the voice acting award go to a veteran games performer instead of some guy who said he only did 4 hours of work and has no interest in actually interacting with the medium of games

which is also to say that i think Maxence Cazorla, who did the motion capture performance for Gustav, Verso, Renoir, and the voice of Esquie, should have been nominated for performance instead. because Gustav shares some physical similarity to Charlie Cox, we think of the performance as fully his. but please watch this video showing how Maxence fully embodied the characters he played:

It boggles the mind that none of the French actors were nominated for the game awards considering that most people were playing an English dub and not in the original language. If Konatsu Kato (rightfully) can be nominated for her incredible performance in Silent Hill f then the incredible French motion capture and voice acting should have been nominated too.
