Been fiddling around reworking shop photos for some of my t-shirt designs today. I’m not the best at this but I think these Maverick ones are pretty neat.

More theme park fanart, this time Chessington’s Vampire.
Available on t-shirts and other stuff from Redbubble.
Another theme park ride tribute, this time it’s Tatsu at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California.
Tatsu is a massive B&M flying coaster, important (at least in my opinion) because it successfully captures the concept of flying better than the Superman flying coasters found at other Six Flags parks. The park’s unique landscape means that the vast majority of the ride has you facing pathways faaaar below, soaring over treetops. Despite not being a huge fan of the flying coaster riding position, Tatsu’s layout and progression of elements is world class. Most coasters start big and gradually wind down, but Tatsu blasts you with the signature and intense Pretzel Loop element right near the end.
I wanted to include that pretzel loop in the illustration, so it makes up the dragon’s body with the park’s skyline in the window with some of the other rides viable, including X, Viper, Colossus, Goliath, Superman and Riddler.

I’ve been working on this on and off for the past week - a tribute to Dueling Dragons at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, which sadly met its end last year to make way for Harry Potter expansion. It was a shock when photos surfaced showing the pile of the mangled track after they began to tear it down... The first B&M coaster to be destroyed. If the pair had been anywhere else in the world they would be major attractions that stuck around for decades, but their popularity at Universal couldn’t compete with the other attractions there.
Rust in pieces, Dragons. May your successor better you.
