Fall, 1905--

James Coates married Noel Knight at the First Baptist Church of Willow Creek. Although the celebration was rather quickly put together, there was no shortage of love felt on the day. It was clear to anyone paying attention that James and Noel adored each other, and their joy spread infectiously throughout the congregation.

In Loving Memory: Rose Coates (1848-1903)

Our matriarch after Mae, she was a steady, loving presence in the Coates household. She raised five children and took on a job to help Ben Jr. achieve his dreams of going to school. Rose always made time for her family and made sure that they always got together for holidays, birthdays, and weddings. She reached level 10 in the cooking, parenting, and violin skills.

Rose is survived by her husband, Benjamin, and their five children: Ben Jr., Alma, Elijah, James and Josie. She lived to see three of her children married and the birth of six grandchildren.

RIP mama Rose.

This loss hits me pretty hard. I genuinely cried while editing the video... I was not ready to let her go. Love and miss you so much, Rose.

Winter 1899--

Elijah Coates married Jordan Johnson at the First Baptist Church of Willow Creek. The few churchgoers who dared to whisper about the small bump under Jordan’s dress quickly hushed upon receiving a look from the groom’s mother.

No one in attendance at the wedding could deny that the pair were truly in love. The young couple could not keep their eyes off each other, and their smiles seemed to fill up the small church.
