OH COAXMETAL ISN’T A NIER CHARACTER, I haven’t finished Automata either. the damn. hacking “mini” game is making it almost impossible for me to keep going.
Coaxmetal is from Planescape: Torment.
He’s a giant iron golem who was created during the Blood War out of bits of broken weaponry. His purpose is to make weapons. He calls himself ‘pain given expression’ and says he sees the potential - in himself and in raw metal- to cause more pain. And he’s siding with the forces of evil to destroy the universe because... well, more or less, he seems to see existence itself as a prison.
Like I said... any robot given a cruel and pointless task by an absent/dead creator is my jam. I feel for the guy, even though, left to his own devices, he’d probably screw everyone over.
Saying ‘I wish he could end up in Pascal’s village’ was kinda shorthand for ‘I wish he could get to the point where he can see the potential in all that metal for something other than causing pain’.
