The boy was standing there trembling, his father having stepped in between him and the dead body. Martin was covered in blood, his own and the man’s... but, it was mainly the man’s. His own was mainly just from his hand slipping on the knife handle and cutting his palm as he kept stabbing and stabbing the other till he stopped moving. And now, the horror of what he did was sinking in. He was shaking, tears down his eyes and all he wanted to do was hide against his father’s chest and cry.

Early mornings and late night staying up waiting for his dad took it’s toll on the boy, and so that Friday evening when he got to watch a movie with Oswald.. he passed out on the couch. He needed his sleep, so of course his dad didn’t bother waking him, and allowed the child to just snuggle into him like a big lump. Only things did not stay so peaceful, for his heartbeat picked up and the boy started.. twitching. It seemed like a normal dream, small chance of it being a nightmare.. However once tiny scared sounds escaped his throat, Oswald decided enough was enough and gently pulled Martin into his lap. Carefully he rocked the boy, trying to wake him from his bad dream. If something was scaring the child enough to make sounds, it must be bad.
