I am a witch, ask me anything!

I'm trying to be more open about my witchcraft. Coming out of the Broom Closet, as it were. I'd like to share some photos of parts of my journey so far, and share a little bit about what witchcraft is to me.

Last Yule, that is the one in 2023, I was given a black book and white gel pens. I decided to use it as my Grimoire. I intended it to be a journal and workbook for witchcraft, as I was mildly interested in the topic. For the first half of the year, I did a little bit with it, but not all that much. The book sat on my regular bookshelf until around July, 2024, when I put up a shelf that would become my altar.

This simple shelf would become my altar, more pics of which are seen below. Since July, I have filled out most of this black book, which has officially become my Grimoire, and is only a few pages away from being filled up.

It contains my interpretations of my favorite tarot spreads.

It contains records of my various spells that I have cast since starting my journey, a few of which are spell jars.

And one of which was a brand new spell I created, which I cast under the Beaver Moon. See the first image in this post, and this one:

All the while, I have been collecting spell components, reagents, fun trinkets, charms, gems, crystals, and books. Now, my altar looks like this:

That spray bottle there is moon water. I use it to spritz my terrariums throughout the house, and various other moon water needs.

I am super proud of the witchy progress I have made this year, and want to show everyone what I have accomplished. I now consider myself to be an Eclectic Witch, and I try to practice a little witchcraft every day, and am most of the time successful.

Bubble, bubble...

Putting my new Cauldron to use! I made a from-scratch potato soup that turned out amazingly!

Around fall of last year, I was searching for a cauldron and figured an old cast iron Dutch oven could do the trick. I started to look for one in antique stores and asked around.

Turns out, my mom had one in storage!

I didn't get any pics of the inside, but it was rusty and scored down to the bare metal.

The first thing I decided to do with it was make black salt.

Luckily, in the process of making black salt, you end up seasoning the vessel! My mom's old cauldron is good as new now, and made some amazing soup! Looks like I'm leaning a little into kitchen witchcraft this season...
