Soooo...if you want real-life spooky stories to celebrate your paranormal group meeting up again, I have one or two that might be entertaining. Maybe. Kinda sorta? We'll see.
My best friend in junior high, Courtney, lived in a house that was haunted af. A roommate of her parents AND her father had both overdosed in that house. Her dad had died in the room that became her bedroom, in fact. While hanging out at her place, and staying the night (which I did frequently) we would hear tremendous crashing noises from the garage that sounded like boxes and the washer/dryer were being dragged across the floor or even knocked over. Of course, when we ran to check everything would fall silent, appearing perfectly in order.
Early in our friendship, I asked her why she always had bruises and scratches all over her arms and legs. Courtney told me her animal plushies would bite and scratch her at night. I didn't believe her until she brought a stuffed Easter bunny toy over to a sleepover at my place one night. We were sharing my bed with the bunny between us. I've always been a restless sleeper, waking up multiple times a night, and I woke up briefly around one a m. or so on that occasion. I'd closed my eyes to fall back asleep when I felt a horrible, cold yet burning pain on my cheek. I jerked up to a sitting position and looked down at the bunny plushie. It would do this maniacal laugh if you pressed its tummy. Well, I didn't touch it but it started laughing anyway. I scrambled out of bed and ran to the bathroom. When I turned on the light and looked in the mirror, I had a ring of red, human-like teeth marks on my cheek. (Sadly, smart phones or digital cameras weren't a thing yet or I would've taken a pic. Also, I was a terrified 11 year old at the time, so proof wasn't my first thought.)
When I shook Courtney awake and showed her, she just shrugged and said, "I told you."
When I slept at her house, I'd wake up sometimes to find random objects--coins, toys, hair ties, etc.--arranged around me in a circle on the air mattress on the floor. Courtney was a VERY heavy sleeper, and rarely woke up in the middle of the night. It wasn't her playing a prank, is what I'm getting at.
Once, I heard my name called, clear as day, right outside her bedroom door when I was alone. Of course, the hallway was empty when I checked. Courtney was in the bathroom down the hall. Her mom was asleep in her own room, the door closed.
All standard haunting story stuff really. Neither of us really felt threatened or scared, though stuff was definitely creepy. We never really tried to interact with whatever it was either, not directly, though we both believed it wasn't her dad or the roommate that had died in the house. It was...just kinda this weird, spooky thing we lived with and accepted.
Anyway, sorry this was so long and not particularly unique. It's cool your group is able to meet again soon!
WHAT HOLY FUCK DO NOT APOLOGIZE FOR THIS. I read this whole thing with my hand slapped over my mouth in horror because I absolutely would have felt threatened if I woke up to find out something bit my face while I was sleeping??? All of that is so so creepy, you’re amazing for sharing.
