Graves never thought he would still be in this career—he didnt even think he would get into this career when he was younger, just a stupid dream him and his dad shared—and yet here he is after 20 years, pole position after pole position, win after win. And hell, does he still kick ass.

i imagine he’s a mix of chick hicks from cars and max vertappen, cocky attitude and cockier driving that gets him on the hit list of many of the other drivers.

we know from the past that f1 is a sport with a ridiculous amount of un-sportsmanship, and with that said, other drivers absolutely hate Graves. not even because he’s good, but because he rubs it in everyones faces. even his own team hates him sometimes with how he just.. doesn’t listen to them. He plays by his own plan. he isn’t exactly the best team player—everything he does benefits him, if it benefits someone else, then thats just a coincidence.

he doesn’t really care for his other teammate, he just sees them as another racer on the track to pass and overtake to get to P1. many people call him selfish over it, but he stands for himself. he can’t help the bitterness that washes over him when his teammate is a place above him on the podium, a slow clap as they walk out on the stage.

as a team principal, he is SUCH and ASSSSHOLE and i know it deep down in my heart.

hes cocky and fucking annoying to all the other team principals. hes a natural born leader and he drives his team well, knowing when to do what, what his team needs when theyre stuck in a bad place.

during interviews with other team principals, there is no wiping off the cocky smirk that just never ever leaves his face, holding his mic close, arm crossed over his chest, ankle resting on his knee as he leans back. his responses are quick and concise, and his pokes back when the other tp’s retort back are even sharper.

he’s stern on his drivers, yes, but he cant help the proud smile on his face whenever they win, clapping them on the back, smile wide and bright as he cheers them on. he is certainly more closed off about how he feels about his team to the media, but they all know how much he supports all of them.

Summary:

Soap’s first meeting with Formula 1 was at Silverstone at the sweet age of twelve years old. Watching the Formula 1 cars whizz passed them was something Soap would never forget.

But the thing that had been ingrained in his young mind was not the race itself, not the driver’s whizzing past or the car's designs, no, it was from a big screen along the track for when the cars were driving in a different sector. His eyes were glued to the image as the image changed to a pit stop, showing the synchronised team ripping off the tyres and sticking on new ones, how the team’s flowed like water around the car in a matter of seconds before it shot out of Pit Lane again.

Soap had turned to his father, massive blue eyes crinkling with determination as he said “I am going to be a Formula 1 mechanic!”

Dreams became reality as he stepped into the garage during F1 2023 season years later, throwing him into the whirlwind of motorsports in the Red Bull pit crew. Not knowing this season wouldn’t only bring him his desire to be a mechanic but also bring him closer to the lead driver of the team, Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley, who was competing for the 2023 championship.
