When Treyarch copies Ubisoft's homework (AKA BOCW Season 3)
AKA When Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War tries to appeal to AC Valhalla fans.
Why do I say this?
Here:
Okay, so Wraith (BOCW Season 3) and Eivor (from AC Valhalla) look similar. That can happen accidentally, right?
Well, let's go down the list:
Eyeshadow around eyes? Check.
Blonde hair? Check.
Hair pulled back into a braid? Check.
Strong female warrior? Check.
Norwegian? Check.
In essence:
Treyarch: I forgot my homework. Can I copy yours?
Ubisoft: Sure! Just make sure it looks different to the teacher.
Treyarch:
Now, I could go over how much I dislike the design of Wraith (The Season 3 flagship operator) such as the odd mask she is wearing (which is getting oh so many comments on reddit) and how it doesn't seem to fit in with the cold war setting. I could also go over how unoriginal she seems to be both because of Treyarch copying Ubisoft's homework and also the "Ice queen" stereotypical personality with her being literally described as "cold-blooded" and "intolerant of weakness" by Treyarch.
But that's my own opinion.
But you know what's funny. I was talking with my friend, @zombie-nymph on VC a little while ago about this rumored leak for the operator. And I mentioned how this seemed to be copying female Eivor from AC Valhalla and how Treyarch is going to make the operator Norwegian (...just like how female Eivor from AC Valhalla is Norwegian).
And so it happened...
Until then, I'll be keeping some popcorn in my cupboard in small hopes of seeing Ubisoft and Treyarch duke it out over intellectual property and copyright.
