“oh—”  lon’s  words  surely  take  her  by  surprise.  she’s  usually  a  woman  of  focus,  but  every  once  in  a  while  the  fantasies  and  the  terrifying  though  of  forgetting  jumps  into  her  head,  causing  her  to  lose  ways  to  concentrate.

leonidas  was  only  a  student—  or  so  she  thought.  he  was  much  more  special  than  many  she’s  seen,  and  the  intuition  was  shared  with  tijasar  and  kahurangi  as  well.  she  saw  him  like  a  friend,  someone  to  trust  with  thoughts  that  made  her  feel  weak.  mirembe  sighs.

zoe  hardly  was  the  type  to  attend  parties.  they  did,  out  of  courtesy  with  their  friend,  but  it  usually  was  the  last  pastime  to  check  on  their  list.  too  many  minds  working  at  the  same  time.  they  hesitantly  ask  to  sit  beside  the  charming  boy,  giving  him  a  shy  smile.  “th-thank  you.”  they’ve  been  introduced  to  each  other  earlier  tonight.  he  was  quite  the  interesting  one.  

gripping  their  drink  between  both  hands,  his  works  make  them  burst  in  embarrassed  laughter.  looking  away,  they  frantically  shake  their  head.  “oh  dear,  no.  do-don’t  feel  flattered,”  they  stutter  out,  “i-i’m  certainly  the  most  b-boring  person  in  this  party.”

“excuse  me ?”  oh,  kc  loves  to  act  offended.  it  makes  him  look  like  a  pissed  off  old  lady.  which  he  is,  in  a  way.  one  single  blink  is  enough  to  get  his  head  spinning,  always  the  one  out  of  the  three  to  have  a  few  more  drinks  than  he  was  supposed  to  at  crowded  events.  the  younger  brother !  

though  this  time,  he  decided  it  was  a  good  idea  to  let  lon  tag  along.  “not  at  all,  little  one.  the  best  idea  remains  here,”  the  kiwi  taps  one  temple.  “and  it  is  to  get  two  more  drinks,  avoid  tj  at  all  costs  and  fall  asleep  on  the  couch.  are  you  in ?”

it  was  a  common  routine,  really.  walking  out  of  the  museum,  and  stepping  on  the  birds’  beautiful  chirping  as  the  sun  went  down.  if  he  could  understand  his  pets,  wouldn’t  he  be  able  to  talk  back  at  the  birds  too ?  grinning  at  leonidas’  clear  inquietude,  he  stuffs  his  hands  on  the  black  coat’s  pockets,  looking  around.  

“sometimes  they  do.  it’s  a  roulette,  really.  i  couldn’t  talk  to  them,  but  i  could  know  what  they  were  saying  anyways.”  after  a  beat  of  silence,  he  sighs.  “it’s  all  a  game  of  patience —  don’t  you  think ?”  wait  for  the  knowledge.  savour  it  when  it’s  there.
