The rain bounced freely off the umbrella shielding Elijah from the harsh spring storms, this seemed to be the second worse this month with most of the streets near the lake side flooded or blocked off. One could argue that it was not the best time to go out for a walk but Elijah felt somewhere deep within his chest that if he stayed locked up in his dorm room another moment longer he may just lose his mind. BETA Chloe had already droned on about how terrible an idea it was, but he needed to clear his head, hopefully the logistics of his equations would clear up with fresh scent of wet ozone and a cigarette or two.
The college student took a long drag of his cigarette, turning down a roofed off alley to escape the rain for a moment as he flicked away the spent bud to place a new cigarette between his lips, lighting the cancer stick up happily as his lungs filled with bitter smoke.
Elijah gaze turned down the dimly lit alleyway hearing the rustle of garbage and a pained groan that echoed through the alley.
Elijah called into the darkness, slowly stepping forward to the squirming mass that was hidden behind the dented trash cans, his view landing on the blooded and broken form of a younger male
His voice was hissed as he quickly knelt down to help the other sit up. “Hey… Hey are you with me?”
Everything was just a blur to the teen, was he seeing spots? He felt a loud ringing in his ear as he heard someone approaching. What had happened? Where was he? He panicked, trying to get away from the stranger. He held his head in his hands, bloodied and bruised.
It looked like he had a few broken bones, most likely a concussion based on the blood dripping from the side of his head. His eyes showed only fear as he pulled himself up, letting out a cry in pain before inevitably falling back to the ground, curling himself back up.
God, he was in a lot of trouble and he knew it. His accelerated healing would help for some of it, it was probably the only thing keeping him from going back unconscious, or worse; bleeding out. “Where - what?” He whispered in a raspy voice, wiping blood from his mouth.
He made one more fateful attempt to sit himself up, gripping onto the wall as he groaned loudly, although finally able to lean up against the wall.
