Question : Are they actually back?

The answer to this question is yes. I’m making a slow burn return as I’ve missed writing as Gavin Reed for quite some time but became busy over time with many situations regarding my living, lifestyle, and a few other little bumps along the road to happiness.

What exactly is a slow burn return?

This means, I’m open to discussing and writing, but my replies will not be the way they used to be in 2018. I have another blog that I deeply care for and have to pay attention to just as much. I have days where I desperately want to write, and other days where I may stare at the screen and only want to chat.

Changes to Blog / Writing?

Yes and yes. I may change the writing font of my blog, along with a change in tags once I get my mind around it. If it happens, there will be a post but otherwise, it will remain the same until then. As far as my writing goes, I may write Gavin more brutally. The way he is intended to be written, but allow openness to {my} version of his background outside of what the game shows, as well as character development with each one of you individually. As far as shipping with Gavin goes, however, I don’t think it will be open or even seen on this blog anymore. As stated, changes to the blog will come in due time and will be posted as they go.

Strolls in Detroit weren't uncommon, it was a beautiful city. Beautiful but not safe. Anyone or thing could walk down the street and be at risk of danger, a human could be robbed or killed, an android beat or killed. Nonetheless, it wasn't safe, and the fact no one knew where Nines was left the Detective restless and wondering. The man hadn't been able to get access or contact to the RK900, despite the inward panic he may have felt he remained calm when searching, and when his search ended... well his worries had been met with a brutal and almost painful sight.

Gavin stood there for a moment as he took in the sight that left his stomach twisted in a knot, he was disgusted. Not by Nines, but by the fact people still did this. Yeah, Reed had his fair of issues with androids, but not enough to just... beat one for the sake of it- out of hatred. Let alone really beat one. He was known for fucking with them, getting rough, but the only time he took out violence was when he felt it was needed.

Hearing Nines speak caused him to freeze, his steps had stopped as he eyed him. "Yeah, it's me." He commented when speeding up his steps before kneeling down in front of him, "What the fuck happened?" It was rhetorical. He already had an idea of what had happened, "Can... you stand?"

   Sagi had felt, at last, safe in her quiet makeshift home. The building was rather distant from busy areas of the city, and was entirely abandoned. It was easy for her to explore it and gather items left behind by others if she liked what she saw, and she rarely saw any humans or other androids. Once she began to feel more safe, however, she became more careless. 

   A passerby had seen someone obscured by a very large, baggy coat with a full backpack enter the abandoned building, and reported this to the police. It was suspicious activity as well as trespassing on city-owned, condemned property.

   It was late, certainly wet and rainy outside. A dim light was visible in the building through one small window, where Sagi sat and quietly read a very old book. It wasn’t her usual type, this one a horror and suspense novel that she expected to give her a new and interesting experience. She knew humans sometimes liked to scare themselves, so she wanted to give it a try. Of course, being the gentle soul that she is, she wasn’t exactly doing well as she read through the book. She nearly flinched at every sound outside, but eventually got herself to focus on the book itself. Her LED, mostly obscured by her hair, spun yellow as she read through a particularly suspenseful part, completely unaware that she was about to be discovered by the police.

It wasn't often the Detective was given cases like this, this was more of something... he would hand to Hank for say. After all, he and his tin can had been assigned to a noise complaint before due to someone saying they simply thought it was a deviant making that sound. But the Captain wasn't backing down from ordering and sending Gavin to investigate it and of course, Gavin agreed but said he would do it on his own time. Hoping that whoever it was may have already left the building before he arrived.

But with pushing from Officer Tina he decided to check it out that night, wait till he was heading home and investigate the report, hopefully, come up empty handed- tell Fowler he was a dipshit, or more so tell him he was wrong to his face and a dipshit behind his back. Nonetheless, here he was. Parked outside the abandoned building, quite the distance from where most people resided, clearly whoever made the call was some person who got their panties bunched up too easily.

A long sigh was released as he grabbed his flashlight and glanced out the passenger window of his car, sure enough, a light was dimly lit inside. "God damn it." He hissed before exiting the car quietly and moved to enter the building. Inside, he navigated his way through the halls until he reached the level and neared the room where the light was. What he had expected to see, was a homeless person, but when he pushed the door open, he was greeted by the spinning LED of an android which caused him to tense. "You're trespassing." Well, it wasn't the best tactic, but it was direct.

Gavin could feel the ache of his heart ramming against his chest, it was a feeling he hadn't felt in... quite some time. A fast beat while his lower abdominal felt heated with a tingling sensation that coursed its way lower and lower on him. How he hated the android for making him feel this way. To lust over the damn android, to crave and want those lips pressed against his... while his mind carried to imagine touching every inch of him in public with only the cover of the dark alleyway nearby.

To take the risk of nearly being caught in public or suggesting to move it somewhere more... private. Shit, at this point, Reed didn't think he cared much for what could happen if someone saw. Not that he really had much worried about it. Everyone was busy, and even if not, they were to one tracked mind to glance in the direction where the Detective and the RK800 resided.

Connor wanted more. A low growl rumbled in Gavin's throat as he moved forward, his lips feverishly meeting with the soft feel of the other male's. His hands were pressed into the wall on both sides of him before he moved them off, touching the sides of Connor, venturing lower. Reed's teeth lightly bit into his lip, chuckling softly at just how annoyed he was with clothing existing and being in his way.

It’s hard to overlook how unprofessional the man looked– feet on the desk, munching on a donut, on his phone, not in uniform. He figured the DPD had a more lax dress-code than the NPD (where everyone had to be in uniform, on the field or in the office, regardless of rank) but it seems to be more lax in general– No, no, that’s not fair to think! With how much of a mess Naobi is, Kisama ain’t in any position to stick up his nose at another country’s police force. This guy is a detective, and a young-looking one at that, so he must be good at his job. That’s all that matters.

Still, it does make Kisama feel way overdressed. Navy-blue blazer, matching slacks, black tie, white dress-shirt– all custom-fitted, like most of the clothes he’d packed. (His guards were dressed similarly, in black suits.) That didn’t mean the foreign chief looked normal– the way he styled his hair dashed any hopes of that. Jet black and shiny, with three dyed strands in the front: Red, golden-blonde, and blue. The bulk of it is tied back in a long ponytail, with a baby-blue ribbon. It looked ridiculous– He’d been told that a million times, and didn’t give a shit.

“Hm,” Kisama nods as the other rose to his feet, almost smirking at his first name being used so casually. Right, right– cultural differences. Get used to it. Anyway, he follows alongside the detective, adjusting his pace to keep up. “I guess you were told about me in advance,” he says, judging from how the detective had reacted. “Good, saves me a lot of explainin’. I’m honored t'be workin’ with ya.”

Where are they going, he wonders? He can hear his bodyguards following a few paces behind, but pretends they don’t exist. In his experience, that makes things less awkward.

Once Gavin was on his feet he turned his full attention towards the male he was assigned to be working with. He'd have to admit, he was generally surprised by the attire he chooses to wear. Yeah, he supposed normal officers wore their uniform, but nothing quite as well fitting as it was with this male, all prim and proper. Realistically, the Detective held back his snort to the attire. What had caught his attention as well as the colouring of the man's hair, he wasn't sure if he had ever seen someone assigned to a job like this that had unique colouring in their hair. Was it even allowed?

Not that he cared, Gavin would personally go out of his way to avoid having to speak to Captain Fowler.

Gavin moved away from his desk, letting out a long sigh through his nostrils before glancing over at Kisama's direction, eyes looking at the male's face before his hand rose, his thumb pointing in the direction of Fowler's office of glass, "Yeah, nothing comes in without being run by a million times. Whether it's emails, in-person conversation, and text all in one go. So I knew about your arrival, just wasn't sure when it would be or if it was just the Captain fucking with me."

The male paused outside the evidence room where he found himself wondering, his feet coming to a sudden stop before he gestured towards the guards following him, "Maybe I skipped over it, but is there any reason why these guys gotta follow us around everywhere? 'Cause at some point on cases I'm not going to have enough room in my car for them, and I rather not have extra feet at crime scenes either."

Gavin couldn't help but to scoff a bit as he shook his head, of all people to get called to play check up, it had to be him. But secretly he was glad to see Elijah, even if the circumstances weren't entirely the best of situation. He rolled his eyes, pointing at the cigarette, "Maybe you should save it for a time where you're not feeling like and might I add, looking like complete shit, yeah?" Maybe it ran through their blood to be reckless, he knew for a fact if it were himself, he'd be doing the exact same thing, all caution to the wind. Life was too short to give a fuck, and life was too short to keep sweet misery out of the mouth and lungs.

"So in other words, you ate shit?" The Detective snickered before pausing at the mentioning of his own looks, his hand pressed into his knee while his eyes narrowed on his older sibling, "Let's not worry about me, I'm functioning properly, you, on the other hand not so much."

Did he really look that bad from his lack of sleep due to insomnia? If so, he'd have to figure something out before Captain Fowler was reported on it and jumped his ass for it. "Yeah, you're definitely not popular, I mean the form of popularity you hold isn't... hm, favourable, that much is certain. Maybe you should have more protection when leaving- including if you're going into areas like this." Reed's hand extended out, gesturing to the neighbourhood. "I'll call soon enough. Right now, I need to work on getting your ass into the car and seeing if we need to swing by the hospital, which by your looks, we will."

He pressed his lips together, furrowing a brow, "I'm still on duty, well was, listen... Elijah, do you need help getting into my car?"

The Detective, or rather Dicktective couldn’t help but snort a bit before casting his steel blues in the direction of the woman, “Officer Tina... are you hitting on me, or trying to insult me?”

“...Personally between you and me, grey face with rad shades. I would be devastated if I was even capable of feeling that, to begin with. But I’d have to get over it, now wouldn’t I? What’s done would be done... but I’d be pissed. I’d show devastation and anger... probably take it out on the asshole who thought doing that would be a good idea.”

“Believe me, Gavin, I want to lose my shit, but I really can’t afford to- it’s like tightrope walking at this point….” Matt seemed to have this idea in his head that Connor was just trying to make people feel bad or lord his position over them by mentioning his obligations as the police station’s golden child. Of course anyone who never had to attend parties or lose staying power in their job and risk being fired would think that. 

Matt barely attended his regular job. He’d never survive the obligations of Connor’s. He perked up at the sound of Gavin’s fingers on the counter, glancing over curiously, and didn’t even attempt to not laugh. “Aw, is that supposed to convince me in any way that you don’t wanna fuck me?” 

Honestly, though, it was actually kind of comforting to know Gavin was there for him. Even if they had the sort of ‘no one fucks with you but me’ mentality, they still had a sort of almost friendship. And it felt comforting to know he had someone at least. “Thanks, though, Gavin. Seriously, man. Same goes for me- tell me if anyone tries to fuck with you so I can fuck them up.”

Gavin was already shaking his head, "No what I mean, is the fact you refrain from losing your shit, to begin with." A finger raised to point at his own chest, "If it was me, I'd take a chance and beat the shit outta him. But that's on the half that Fowler may hate me, but not enough to actually fire me." Or at least that's what he told himself, but then again, Reed wasn't in the same situation as Connor. No one really messed with him, it was the opposite. Gavin went around fucking with people, a rare few, Connor included, but what he did with him was different.

"Hmph, at this point, I'm thinking you want me to fuck you." He couldn't help but laugh, a genuine one too. In all honesty, the male couldn't remember a time he generally laughed this much, let alone enjoyed the company of Connor, or even felt protective over the other male.

His lips had curled into a smirk as he leaned against the counter and leaned his head back just enough to stare at the ceiling. "There's no need to thank me, but I'll consider keeping that in mind." Gavin pressed his lips together letting out a long sigh, "I should probably get back to my paperwork before Fowler decides to stack more on top as some sick joke or way of getting back at me for something I did."

Gavin had got a kick out of watching the android raise his hands as if that kind of behaviour was going to calm him down if anything it sadistically egged him on. But he wasn’t entirely just there for aggression, at first, he was, but those frustrations turned into something else within a matter of seconds. He hated how much he loved how perfect Connor was, he hated that he admired those features, that he wanted him. The feel of Connor’s lips pressed against his own was maddening, but with no protest, the male didn’t stop. He couldn’t bring himself to stop either.

they’d kissed before, but that had been purely accidental. it had been something that, perhaps maybe, they both desired again but didn’t really talk about. it had been nothing at all like this. nothing could ever be like this.

his chest hummed with electricity as both internal and external temperature rose by several degrees, a delicate flush spreading across his cheeks, his ears, down his throat. if an android could have adrenaline, it pulsed through him, hands no longer hovering in the air but now clutching to gavin for dear life. he needed this. needed this like he needed thirium to live, like he needed his o.s to initialise. he needed this more than he needed oxygen – and right then, as his body tried to counteract the increased temperature by increasing the ventiliation through his lungs – he really did need to breathe.

The Detective had to admit that he was fairly surprised that Connor had even returned his aggressive and rather random kiss. Yet, he wouldn't complain about it. There was something about the RK800 that got under his skin, embedding a form of hatred mixed with annoyance in himself for the lust he felt. Why the hell did they make androids so perfect? He supposed it also pissed him off that his job was always on the line with all these androids around... but at this moment, he couldn't bring himself to be as ticked off as he had appeared when first approaching and bullying the android into the alleyway.

Gavin could feel his heart ramming against his ribs, causing a vibration that was mixed with adrenaline from doing this in the first place and here of all places. A coworker could easily walk out at any moment and see how the Detective was behaving with the android he claimed to hate so much. Which he did. But who was to say he couldn't kiss someone- no, something he hated?

He did find himself drinking in the sight of Connor, those flushed blue cheeks, how those eyes looked with just about the same amount of lust and desire he still was feeling. Reed didn't expect it, but it was a pleasant surprise, if anything, it brought him a sense of satisfaction. A chuckle passed Gavin's lips as he raised a hand to brush the tip of his nose, that response. That damn response caused him to shake his head, he needed to be careful, otherwise, he'd probably lose himself.

The recent crime scene had been silent, it was a late night call that he had accepted due to the slow pace of his own cases- even if it meant he would be working near that android Detective, Connor. Who probably would have arrived with Hank if it hadn’t been for the old geezer denying it for sleep or whatever the hell he needed that night. Late night investigations often called to Gavin, it gave him something to do, something to focus on. But this… this wasn’t what he had in mind. When he arrived, he had managed to beat the RK800, the few cops remaining laughed a bit about his jokes, but nonetheless, left him to the crime scene and the house to further investigate. After all, his temporary partner for the case would be arriving sooner or later.

This wouldn’t be his first time investigating alone in a house, so no, he didn’t expect what had happened.

Gavin had made his way upstairs to the room at the end of the hall, where the victim had been murdered. Upon entering the room reeked of blood, the crimson colour staining the floor. He took notice of how it looked… it was odd to see that the only struggle had come from inside the room by the bed and near the closet, and judging by the setup and lack of blood anywhere else… He shook his head, dismissing the ridiculous thought as he wondered the room, occasionally peering out the top window to see if he could spot when Connor arrived.  But before he could spot Connor, he caught movement in the corner of his eye near, no inside the closet.

Pale, white in the moonlight with something black covering part of it. Maybe he shouldn’t have looked, maybe he should have left the room and waited to look or further investigate. But he didn’t, and that was where the night had gone wrong so quickly. Reed turned to look, and what he saw he still couldn’t fully process, perhaps it was the two-story house and the murder scene playing tricks with his mind- but what he thought and was almost certain he saw, was a female, with long black hair, pale skin and a white dress peering out from the closet. Her eyes were sunken, dark, unhuman as they stared at him. His heart launched and felt like it got caught in his throat, and then he turns and ran.

His body slammed into the door and with his balance lost, he skidded across into the wall before bolting down the stairs until he reached outside. Once out there the man ran into the street, nearly blinded by the light of a car that had just pulled over. Gavin’s hands were shaking, his skin visibly paled by what he had seen.

Each breath was quick, rapid and painful. It was those moments when someone was running so much with their heart racing that their ribs began to ache. And how Gavin’s ribs ached, and he could feel a panic attack coming on. Where the Detective’s fingers were once warm and flowing with blood, he could physically feel them grow cold and numb, a small tingling sensation coursed from his feet up while his mind raced.  He couldn’t calm down, for once, he just didn’t want to be there. Gavin’s fingers reached into his pockets as he staggered towards his car, each time he breathed it was painful almost a wheeze. He didn’t want to go back in there, no he wouldn’t go back in there.

He couldn’t recall a time he had been scared shitless like this.
