TASK 001 ; THE MANOR ON THE HILL
A shadowy, foreboding mansion tucked into a forested hillside on the outskirts of Anchorage. Over a hundred years old, having been built in the late 1800s, it’s been rumored to be haunted nearly as long. It’s gone through multiple owners over the years, none of them staying long. Much of the interior hasn’t been update since it was built but the antique, almost gothic look gives it an interesting aesthetic. It shows its age in places -- it’s drafty, there are cracks in the walls, and there’s always something in need of repair -- but it has power, running water, road access, and, most importantly, it feels like home to Nic.
The vampire bought it three years ago upon arriving in the Alaskan city. Despite the reputation and troubles, he loves it. He’s kept the house as in-tact as possible, trying to maintain that classic atmosphere. He’s decorated almost every wall in some painting, made by him or by others. The paintings range in age and artist -- there are originals from Van Gogh, Monet, Picasso, Rembrandt along with pieces from artist that, much like himself, have been forgotten by the history books.
