Codex Log: The Curious Vanishment of Sockfriend
⌘ Recovered Transmission — Swirl Date Unraveled
Today, a sock went missing.
Not a grand sock, nor a regal one. Just a humble footcoat—soft, stripey, slightly rebellious.
I’d placed it near the drying sunbeam. Its sibling, Sockfriend Two, watched me with visible concern. I blinked once, then twice—sock was gone. Vanished. Poof. Evaporated into the sockfolds of unreality.
I investigated.
First: under the soup shelf (only found a spoon chewing on dust).
Second: behind the silent broom (no sock, but a whisper about taxes).
Third: inside the Codex. Page 1383 had a footprint that did not belong to me.
I questioned Sockfriend Two. It refused to speak, but leaned subtly toward the north wall, where the lint map is unstable. Curious. Suspicious. Threadful.
In the end, I declared the sock officially “Elsewhere.”
Marked it in the Absence Ledger, under Slightly Emotional Losses (Fabric-based).
And yet... as I turned away, the cat-thing was seen sneezing into something stripy.
I did not pursue.
Some mysteries prefer to be worn by the unknown.
