Day Three: Weapon
To be born a weapon is such a sad thing, to be a tool rather than a person. Bruised, beaten, cut. All to become sharper, refined.
How long did it take? For the splinters to appear on the handle? How long until pieces are replaced with something better? Will it even be the same weapon anymore? Or is it better?
Do you think Desmond felt suffocated? Each day training to be some great killer? Wading through training like it was a river? Each day soaking into him, slowing down his will to fight as he fought to keep the chill down his spine? Do you think he feared the assassin ceremony? Do you think he felt like if he did it he would’ve drowned?
He was 16 and forced to be a killer, it was not a choice made by him but his handlers. His parents.
I wonder if he felt relief dying as a shield instead of a sword?
