As shown in Innervasion we can see that the Omnitrix has countless alien DNA within it suggesting that this is the final definitive version. The Antitrix however was a more rushed development doesn't have all the of the aliens but in due time it will eventually download more aliens which is why it has those antennas to allow it to connect to the Codon Stream and download more Alien DNA. Vilgax just made the key simply prioritized one particular DNA which was the Celestialsapien.
Does the Codon Stream exist in the Reboot? I don't think it was ever confirmed...
