ive been playing since rby days and ive only ever encountered two shinies, both in gen 2. when g/s came out i rented it from blockbuster and started with a shiny totodile and eventually had to give the game back :( my second was a shiny teddiursa and i ran out of pokeballs trying to catch it; i couldn't weaken it because i was so much of a higher level than it, i didn't want to kill it :/

I remember when there used to be a Blockbuster near my house. Gosh, the good old days. That is always the fear when you rent a game, that you will have something super cool and rare in it, but then have to return it. That is really unfortunate that both your shinies were misses.
