Skylights ft. One Sad Balloon by Coffee Sludge
Just a try out to see the differences between natural binders and chemical binders.
EXPERIMENT II POTATO STARCH + WATER + GLYCERINE + COFFEE
With these ingredients you can make you own bio-plastic. I’m working on this process in my department, but I was curious if it was also working with my experiments for LAB. So I have made my own bioplastic and used that together with coffee sludge and fresh tea.
It was in the oven for 4 hours, but it’s still very jelly and wet. So it needs some time to dry. Not sure what I can do with it... But a nice try out.
How to combine ‘Project Salt Crystals’ vs ‘Project Coffee-Tea Sludge Material’?
You will see it during the lunch :)!
HAPPY WITH MY RESULTS OF TODAY!
The experiments I made in the other way around.
I have first put the tea and coffee in the silicon-form and after the binder. I found out that this works the best to have the best result with the tea and coffee.
15 minutes :
The differences between boiling tea and coffee sludge together with textile.
It’s nice to see that there is a small color difference between the 3 last textiles and the first 2. The tea textiles are almost still the natural white color (without sample 3 and 4) and the coffee react different on it. For example the first sample. The material is a Shower curtain and coloured well with coffee, but with tea it still stays white.
Let’s see what it will be after drying :).
Colouring textiles based on natural waste colouring.
I really like this first outcome with coffee sludge. Textile isn’t ‘my’ material, but just by seeing the video of Orange Fiber I wanted to give it a chance to see what the possibilities are for me.
And I like it! Now I also wanted to try it with tea. Will there be color differences?
