Had a great Coffee and Conversation today!

There were many more conversations going on than a person could keep track of, but here’s a few things I heard at C&C on Saturday Sept. 6.  

We ate a fig that was grown in Logan Square.

Where in the U.S. would you live if not in Chicago?  Many people consider the Pacific Nowrthwest; Seattle or Portland. Some think any city can be a good fit and that it is more about what you make of it and the community you find.   (A couple of us thought that Charleston, SC might be a decent but often overlooked spot).  

Some months make sense as names; April, May, June…, but some seem super weird; October, November, December.  Weird.

Your birthday is a time to celebrate yourself; it’s your own personal new year.  Why not make resolutions for the “new year”?  Scope out some things you’re looking to accomplish in the next year of your life.

Had a great Coffee & Conversation Saturday Aug 23rd. Here are a few of the concepts we discussed during our gathering:

Potential research question: Do entrepreneurial minded people arise from famiy situations that have caused them to step up/take on more responsibility at some point their life?

What is capacity? Does capacity get defined different due to different family situations and environments? I.e., family of entrepreneurs that promote capacity building situations vs situations that do not inspire growth. Capacity could be different for each person based on their experiences/environment. Are some people born with more capacity for entrepreneurship?

Does capacity for entrepreneurship need ot be defined? -abiliy to impement vision -ability to manage resources: people and money -ability to leverage network

For some, hair on hair feels good.

Holidays overshadow birthdays for many.

B-Corps, are they just a status, or do they function? B-Corps allow business to legally take on projects for social good, rather than the sole focus on profits for corporations with investors. B-Corps can also seek out other B-Corps for conducting local businss.
