No doubt that this was the time of year where Detroit’s weather became cruel and unforgiving. Don’t get Markus wrong-- The white blanket of snow was beautiful, but extreme cold could meddle around with his system’s functions. It was an unlikely event, but it was possible. Besides, his people won a revolution in the snow. The memory of that made this weather that much more tolerable for him.
But for the detective, he could only assume that it was so much different. She’d been assigned to keep him safe and protected, but... he felt that their alliance had grown to be something more. Or, perhaps this extravagant feeling was purely fiction, fashioned in his head because of his romantic views. The corner of his lips twitched as his mind battled through the ideas in his head.
“I hate to have you out in this weather-- You could come down with a cold. I’m so sorry, Detective.” Markus gave his apologies, as he had been adamant about going out to take care of an errand. Of course, Detective Koning was adamant about following him to continue her duties. ...And because of her predictable behavior, she’d fallen right into his trap.
“I have an idea...” He broke the silence once more as he started to shed away his trademark trench coat from his body. Carefully, Markus draped the coat over Lotus’ shoulders. Although it was much too long and practically drowned her petite frame, he’d rather offer her warmth like any respectable gentleman would do than maintain his own comfort.
“How about we take a little detour into this coffee shop just down there? We could get you something warm to drink. ..Does that sound good?” He asked with a half-sly smile and a lift of his eyebrows. Little did she know that this was going to be more than some basic coffee shop visit.
