The world had changed, thousands of years since Liyue was once a prosperous nation was now ruins that the sea had claimed. The once God of Geo watched as generations of people began to forget about Rex Lapis and the War that brought forth their nation. He watched as Liyue was swallowed by the sea, reclaiming the lands as hers and he watched Liyue became a legend, a myth to the modern world.
Nothing survived from the harbor, just stories from elders that still believed, that knew. Much like Atlantis, the only thing that survived were a few ruins and statues. Zhongli sighed as he gathered his books, living in the modern world trying to teach the history of Liyue was received with blank stares and whispers of a lunatic.
The youth of today did not understand how beautiful the nation was before the tides rose. Before the great storm sealed their fates under layers of water and sand.
If he was going to be called a lunatic then so be it, he had lived far to long to care about his image. “Perhaps I should have relinquish my control...” he murmured but sighed at the thought and shook his head. Even the Gods were but snickers and jokes among the youths.
Making his way to his office his Cor Lapis eyes closed as he imagined how he ended up as a history professor, most of his colleagues also claimed he should be renamed as a mythology instructor. Sighing once again he paused when he felt a presence near his office door. It should be a student... Looking up he spotted a woman and tilted his head in greeting, “Hello Miss, is there something I can help you with?”
Opening his office and turning the lights, the first thing that catches peoples eyes was the perfectly preserved Glaze Lily just above his computer. Other trinkets surrounded it from a past long gone. Even his vision amulet was resting against the glass containing the lily.
