Ever since I was a kid, Orcas have been one of my favorite subject in my drawings. I can still remember watching "Free Willy" movie and believed that no wild animals deserve to be kept in captivity for the pleasure of human park goers. Orcas are apex predators, at the top of the food chain. No other animals (except for humans) hunt orcas. Killer whales feed on sea birds, squid, octopuses, sea turtles, sharks, rays and fish. They also eat most marine mammals, such as seals and dugongs. Killer whales, more properly known as orcas, have been kept in captivity since 1961, helpless victims of a blatantly commercial experiment which has seen dozens of wild orcas plucked from their families and forced to live in artificial social groupings which bear scant resemblance to their natural order. There are currently a total of 62 orcas held in captivity (28 wild-captured plus 34 captive-born) in at least 14 marine parks in 8 different countries. #CoffeeBeanOceanArt #CaringCup #Ravenfox13 #ArtPh I used Dong-A My Color 2 for the whole illustration Dong-A Philippines
The unforgettable experience seeing life underwater up-close while snorkeling in Bohol. I remember seeing a lush underwater garden in form of seaweeds, coral reefs, and colorful marine life. I wanted to capture that vibrant, lively, and warm feeling of enjoying this underwater masterpiece in this artwork. Care for the seas and ocean by reducing, reusing and recycling. Start from your own home, educate your friends and loved ones. we only have one home, together let's take care of Earth. #CoffeeBeanOceanArt #CaringCup #Ravenfox13 #ArtPh
"Defend" 9" x 12" watercolor Just because they seem harmless doesn't mean we can exploit them. They need to live as free as they naturally should be. Let's protect the majestic Butanding... #CoffeeBeanOceanArt #CaringCup #brewyourbestyear
They might be harmful and feared by most of us, but hey! They're still one of God's amazing sea creatures right? What makes the ocean very interesting for me is how tiny living things just like these jellies gracefully sway like dancers on-stage, highlighting a deep blue backdrop. The ocean has many magical wonders, and I want to experience those magic, while protecting life within it at the same time. #CoffeeBeanOceanArt #CaringCup
Unearthed my old sketchbook & found this! The ocean--home to different marine creatures. A place of refuge for these sea animals, and ours too when we are in need of a break from our busy lives! #Coffeebeanoceanart #caringcup
