One of my new favorites! “The Whine Bar” I love mixing layers of humor in my art and this piece is no exception. Often people look at my art and “don’t get it” and that’s okay. It’s not for everyone. It’s silly, it’s witty and there’s always more to it than first meets the eyes. It’s deeper than “whimsical “ as it is sometimes called but I don’t usually explain the stories behind the pieces. Mixing subtle humor is risky. Using puns that many people may not even understand isn’t going to make my art appeal to everyone. Yes, I can paint flowers. Yes I can paint a landscape... but you know what ?? I got up one day and started painting coffee beans , acting like people ! I use clever titles and hidden jokes that only some people like or even get 🤓.. haha but I am totally cool with it! I am doing something new, something UNIQUE, and something NO ONE ELSE was doing. Do you KNOW how hard it is to be original as an artist on this planet ?? No one has my humor, my ideas or my personal view on life. So... yep... I’m painting coffee bean people because they make me laugh and it’s 💯 my take on a world that would probably stop spinning if you took our coffee away. 😜 This art is true to me. Yes, of course I love it when someone connects to a piece, I see it when they relate to my art and that’s SO cool! I’m not gonna compromise and paint for the masses. I’m gonna paint MY art. Let the Coffee Bean Revolution BEGIN!!!! 😎 #coffeebeanqueen #coffeebeangirl #betruetoyourself (at Scottsdale, Arizona) https://www.instagram.com/p/BwCh8lHjvuN/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1pzt44rtj26bp
