— Even though Hawaii was a tiny island in comparison to the rest of the United States and other countries across the world, Julian somehow had a feeling that Ketch wouldn't think to track him to Honolulu for at LEAST a couple of months and a bonus? There were plenty of demons for him to hunt in the area to keep him upright for at LEAST that long. Besides, the lure of surfing and hanging out on the beach and exploring the island was way too tempting to pass up. He took a job tending bar at a local dive and settled in, unable to really set down even temporary roots until he saved up enough to rent a place. So until then, he'd have to camp out on the beach at night.
It was during the first week that things got a bit hairy. A blast from his past in the form of a certain dark-haired beauty that a mate was dating long distance back at the Kendrick's Academy walked into the bar. Why Honolulu of all places? HOW? It was too much of a coincidence. But at the same time, he was so excited to ‘see her again’ that he couldn't wait to blurt out her name and reunite with the girl he had once been so close to even across the ocean that separated them. Unable to leave the bar unmanned to confront the brunette, Julian waited until she came up to order a drink and then he jumped on the chance to talk to her. Slamming down a shot glass in front of Meri with a flourish, he poured her a shot of top-shelf tequila and flashed her a grin, sapphire hues especially mischievous. "On the house, love. Being old friends and all," he said with a wink before dashing off down to the other side of the bar to help another customer.
He just had to hope he was right and Merilee wasn't somehow recruited by Ketch to help lure him out. Oh boy.
