So we’re NEVER gonna get this fit from him in Tristamp? …😭
Knives technically the only being that is overly qualified to bring blades to a gunfight. I did like the concept they had with his 98 version also being a gunslinger like Vash.
I have thoughts now… I’m come back to this! Someone REMIND me!!!
You know what I found interesting about this scene. His eyes and the way they are presented to us. Almost like there are TWO different set of “eyes” looking at us.
Millions knives( the side that halfway hidden by his cloak. Not gonna lie but that shadowed side looks like Telsa manifesting herself. Not even talking about the eye color. It’s just that sad dead eye expression.
The more exposed side that’s not completely hidden. It’s still shaded but you can see light starting to creep across his face. That’s Nai…they even desaturated his eye color where it’s more like his brother(I’m probably reading too much into that visual. Still cool)
Maybe this is Nai slowly coming back? Trauma does things. I know in the manga the shock of Telsa made him lose consciousness. He woke up not remembering what he saw. His mind literally blocked it out. Until Vash and rem insisted on recounting it.
Nai is telepathic I wouldn’t be surprised if they lean heavily into that aspect of him. His young mind blocking that discovery in order to protect him. Yet something or someone opened that mind box.
I should redo this because I feel like I’ve improved since, but I’m afraid I might break myself if I redid Vash. He’s pretty hot in this old art…he probably be just Diabolical hot if I did an update
Side note: when he awaken he went through the light, the gate via Vash’s gate synchronized with his. It explains for that VERY brief moment why he looked over at Vash that way. It gave me Nai for a brief moment. The Nai that’s waking up the Nai that was buried so long in the echo of darkness. Which helps explain IN MY OPINION, why that scene where we are close up on his face. It looks like two different persons are present. Knives and Nai. That sliver of light waxing like the moon does in its cycle.
Since the fandom likes to call Nai/knives the moon and Vash the sun.
Scar mapping… just trying map out a post trimax knives. Playing around with it.
So is season 2 also knives journey back to being Nai again? Is Vash goal to get his brother back? Save him from the monster that is Millions Knives?
Knives claimed Nai died 150 years ago as he literally died along with Juli.
A puppeteer masquerading as Knives telling Vash to stop calling out to a corpse. Nai is dead.
Yet Vash still calls out to him still calls him Nai cause I guess he hopes his brother can hear him again. Everyone calling him knives except Vash. Vash still calls him Nai.
Even though the focus is on Vash. Perhaps Knives journey back to Nai, is unfolding in the background?🤷🏽♀️
Kinda like how when Vash had his long hair they kept covering one of his eyes. Wields the blades in his opposite hand while holding a gun in the other. Maybe Nai will become the “Telsa” for Vash? How he was so violent against those robots sending a blade through one of its head. Moving like his blade dancing twin.
I’m probably reading too much into that… Conrad saying he needs Vash to fully complete Nai. Than they show a “completed” Knives floating in a tube.
Conrad throwing out these tidbits. Calling knives the “ultimate life form” was it glaze or something more. What do you mean!? What exactly is Nai? Now he saying to fully complete Nai he needs to graft/merge Vash to him.
Like I ain’t saying merging isn’t the end game but the thought NEVER left me ever since I saw this concept art when it came out during season 1.
One them clearly is gaining the other twin’s wing. I am just speculating that it is Nai that gains his brother’s wing, only because Nai wing is very prominent and strong, the other wing looks like a fledgling. It’s doesn’t look like it belongs there. Like it’s growing into something new. Emerging into a new body.
I mean he did attempt to make Vash like him by force… maybe the second time around it’s willingly because the one that ALWAYS been alone is Nai. Vash always had his family.
“Alone no longer” maybe that wasn’t talking about Vash👀.
Would be a twist if vash willingly gave himself up to bring back Nai. I’m sure that would piss off half the fandom though. Still it’s an ending that hasn’t been explored. Honestly the one the needs to learn how to co-exist with humanity is Nai. Not Vash. Since they making “bold” choices with this version of Trigun.
Or it’s Vash that carries his brother showing him through his eyes how to love humanity. Still that would imply that merge independent plants have some influence over their “host”
Welp that just my plot bunnies plotting. It’s all speculation and theories.
I think of all the things in Trigun max that sometimes wakes me up at night…Vash’s metal grate over his chest. Yes of all the weird ass stuff that goes on in that world. That is at the top of “things my brain likes to dwell on for no reason”
