Evolving, Improving, Refining. Before the "Cognitive Dress" designed by Marchesa's Keren Craig with IBM technology, and presented at the Met Gala this year for the Manus X Machina: Fashion in the Age of Technology" exhibition, there was another smart dress, the "Butterfly Dress." Powered by Intel's Edison Compute Module and conceived by the avangardist designers and sisters, Ezra and Tuba in 2015, the dress was able to detect the presence of a person, flapping slowly then more fervently and finally, leaving en masse in a dramatic launch. Just like I said: Fashion industry is evolving, improving, refining. One more thing: "It is important to remember that what was seen at one time as the most sophisticated technology, eventually becomes tradition. There was a time when even the metal needle would have been seen as shocking and profoundly new.” Jonathan Ive, Apple's Chief Design Officer. #FashionTech #Fashion #MetGala #ManusxMachina #WearableTech #Intel #IntelDress #ButterflyDress #NYC @ezratuba @intel #cognitivedress @marchesafashion #ibm @ibm @karencreigmarchesa #ibmwatson #applefashion #DigitalFashion #FutureFashion #3DPrinting #JonyIve
