Hey friends! So this holiday season is going to be a bit of a bummer for me (which will be pretty blatantly explained in a personal fix-it fic I plan on writing in December lol....who's ready for some Lumberjack Bucky??), and decided to do a month-long sleepover to ignore my issues in the real world! Yay!!!!

LOL for real though, I do love the holidays and watching Christmas movies and reading cheesy winter-related fics so I thought it would be fun to do this! It'll be a mix of inbox-related shenanigans as well as a writing challenge-ish type thing (aren't I amazing at explaining things? Lol).

Here’s the life my dice have created for you!!!

Mafia Bucky got into a bit of trouble and had to leave his life in the mob behind. Now, he lives in a tiny home in a quiet part of the city, living comfortably with the shit ton of money he’s accrued over the years. One morning while in line at his favorite coffee shop, he notices a particularly lovely figure standing in front of him. He’s never been so thankful for such a long wait to get his coffee because he has the time to introduce himself and get to know you.

Turns out you grab coffee here everyday on your way to work at the school down the road, and Bucky decides that it’s the time he needs HIS coffee and hey why not walk you to school?

A few weeks go by, and on one occasion Bucky notices that you’re not your usual self. Your quiet, panicked, unable to smile. He wonders why you’re wearing sunglasses inside the shop, but that question is answered when he sees the swollen, angry mark on the corner of your eye. A bruise. He holds back the rage only for your sake so he doesn’t make you more scared than you already are. All he can do is quietly ask what happened and the name of who hurt you. A quick explanation of your ex has Bucky heading back to his place to pull out his old rings, and then he’s on the hunt. Your ex won’t be bothering you anymore.

A few months later and your smile is back, and Bucky swears he’s going to spend the rest of his life making sure it stays on your beautiful face. Forever.

The holiday season is upon you and your little bookshop, meaning it’s time for longer hours to accommodate the extra foot traffic and sales. You’re too busy selling books during the day that you have to wait for the store to be closed to unpack new inventory, re-shelve books, and run sales reports. It sounds tedious, but you love walking through the quiet empty store that’s dimly lit with twinkle lights, Christmas music playing softly in the background, and your beloved bookstore cat Chewie following you around, meowing at you from time to time for some much-needed scritches.

Usually Chewie is good about staying inside, but one evening as you’re closing up the shop, she sneaks through the open door and into the dark London streets. You scramble to run after her, panicking about cars passing by who might not notice an orange tabby running into the street.

But alas, it’s winter, and the ground is slick with ice. You get a hundred or so feet until you slip on a patch of black ice, body flying in the air, back about to make impact with the hard concrete.

Except instead of a hard, painful collision, you are met with a much more comfortable landing as your eyes lock onto those a beautiful shade of cerulean, and a smile that would knock you off your feet if…well, you hadn’t already.

“Easy there, doll,” the man says in a husky voice, easing you up to stand straight, hands still on your arms. “What has you in such a rush this late at night?”

You swallow, trying to gather your thoughts that are currently muddled by this tall, beefy man in a tight leather jacket. Then, your eyes widen when you remember the emergency at hand. “My cat! She ran off, I don’t know where she went.”

The man ponders for a moment, then turns his head over his shoulder, emitting a loud whistle. Ten seconds later, you catch a familiar orange tabby bounding over to you. She jumps into your arms, shivering and rubbing her head against your chin. You let out a small sob of relief.

“Thank you…uh-“

“Bucky,” he says, reaching up to pet Chewie behind the ear. She purrs loudly.

“Bucky….thank you so much. I don’t know how to repay you.”

His smile widens and you cling to Chewie a little tighter, nervous that your arms might stop working from such a stunning sight.

“How about you let me give you a ride home?” He nods over to the side where a shiny black motorcycle is parked. “I don’t like the idea of you walking home by yourself and slipping on more ice while I’m not there to catch you.”

Heat rushes to your face, and you find yourself thankful for the warmth in the cold night air. “Fair enough. I’m a huge clutz so that definitely isn’t outside the realm of possibility. Let me just leave Chewie back at the store and then we can go.”

Bucky looks behind you. “You work at that bookstore? I’ve actually been meaning to stop by and check it out. The library recently told me I can’t keep borrowing The Hobbit ten times a year so I figured I might as well buy my own copy.”

You giggle. “I actually own the store, and we have a nice special edition that just released of that book with a bunch of beautiful illustrations. I’m happy to give you a friends and family discount for it. You know, for your help tonight.”

He bites his bottom lip, and you have to force yourself not to stare, keeping your eyes locked on his. “Books and a beautiful girl? I think I’m gonna be spending a lot of time there, doll.”

He did. Not that you ever complained. 😉📚

Ohhhhh here we go 😉

Listen, the world is messy, and America sucks lol. One day you had enough of its BS and decided to move to a place with good (*ahem* female) leadership, New Zealand! They have this great program where you get free housing if you teach at one of their public schools. Apparently your tiny home also comes with a free cat, because a white ball of fur seems to know every method to sneak into your home and curl up next to you while you sleep at night. 😉

One day you’re perusing the shelves of your local bookstore, carrying a stack of books (because you have no control and they all need to be read), and turn around too quickly, not noticing the tall, beefy, drop dead gorgeous man with eyes that almost kill you on the spot, whom you crash into dropping all of your books on the ground. He only chuckles, giving you a smile that makes you weak in the knees as he bends down to help you collect the dropped tomes (there’s even that gross/cute moment where you both reach for the same book and your hands touch and you both feel that ✨spark✨). And though you used to think the idea of soulmates was super *cringe*, you know in that moment that you’ve met your person. Next thing you know, you’re sitting on the back of his bike, riding through the gorgeous New Zealand landscapes.

Okay this one got away from me 😂 I hope you like it!!

Bucky had just finished up a mission in New England when he decided to visit a local library. While perusing the shelves, he heard a soft sniffle in the aisle next to him. He turned the corner to find you, smiling with tears in your eyes as you read. In that moment, he felt as if his heart had been pulled out of his chest and transported over to you. And once you met his gaze and let out a soft gasp, he knew you felt the same.

The rest is history! You now live in a tiny house (saving up for something nicer when you can afford it). You work as a vet, and one day a stray white kitten is left at the hospital with no tags or microchip, and she can’t seem to stay away from you. So why not bring her home to your handsome, cat loving, soft boi super soldier? 😉

Your #1 is ready for you 😘

You grew up in a stupidly wealthy home, and the ridiculous divide between upper and working class always drove you up a wall. Why were you and your snobby “friends” given horses and cars while you were growing up while other kids couldn’t eat lunch at school because they didn’t have enough money? You gave any spare money you had to those in need, and slowly became a bit of a vigilante. Peter Parker heard rumors of an older woman who stole from the rich and gave to the poor and told Tony Stark of your top-tier stealth skills. After an informal meeting, Tony hired you to work for the Avengers as someone to sneak into heavily guarded establishments (and punch a few bad guys).

A few years into your job you were walking home to the mansion inherited from your parents and you noticed a few dark figures inside a dimly-lit bakery. Upon further investigation, you caught one man pointing a gun at a wide-eyed man with his hands in the air. You quietly snuck in from behind, knocking out the robbers before they even knew you were there.

The baker, a handsome man with long chestnut hair and eyes so blue and so piercing you felt heat rising to your face, immediately relaxed at the sight of you, thanking you fervently. Though Bucky seemed more calm, you could catch the tremor in his hands and offered to walk him home. He invited you in for a drink and a slice of ‘the most delicious pie you’ll ever have’ as a way to thank you for your help earlier. Before you know it, the sun is rising and you two are still sitting on his couch, knees touching and sleepy smiles on your faces as you stare into each other’s eyes.

It was the best damn pie you’d ever had, not just because of the taste, but because of the man who made it.

Okay these are seriously getting away from me 🤣 I hope you like it!!
