I think if I learned anything from today’s voice interaction with Jack it’s that he is a very bitter and angry man. He’s not over what happened to him, and honestly considering his entire life’s work was torn down from within when all he wanted to do was help people and bring peace?

Yeah I think he’s entitled to some anger.

And I think it’s likely that there’s a few things that cause him to be that way to Moira

A) He didn’t agree with her work, as it was editing and changing things “at a cellular level” (supposedly advancing work in disease prevention and cures, etc) and he didn’t like that? (But that seems kind of hypocritical considering he went through the SEP??? Not a fan of this)

B) He blames Moira for what happened to Gabriel, given he seems to have some notion of her experimentation of Gabriel with his ‘genetic issues’ (But he hates Gabriel because of the whole Overwatch thing. Also not a fan??)

C) He’s angry and he’s bitter and everyone is his enemy. While this is a far more emotional reasoning, it’s more aligned with my version of Jack. To him, there were very few people that escape from his anger- specifically those who worked for Overwatch and kind of stood by while Jack and Gabe deteriorated. I’m not saying this is righteous anger, here, except that it seems a lot of the blame rests on Jack for “not seeing things” or saying Jack could have done something to avert the Fall when the understanding seems to be that it was an internal coup that took it down.

But it makes sense to me that misgivings he has over the years would turn more and more sour as he sits on all those little things he let go. He’s stewing in his own self-hatred and it projects onto a lot of other people.

Moira was fired from Overwatch and I doubt Blackwatch could hide her being rehired from Jack so I imagine he let it go, specifically since at the time he’d likely be alright if she was there to help Gabriel. He could have had reservations but as even she says, Jack seemed to ‘turn a blind eye’ when it came to that. And even Jeff has stated Jack had a blind spot when it came to things regarding Gabe.

ANYWAYS THAT’S A LOT TO SAY I love Moira and I wish we had more to go off of. And kind of how I want to go forward with how Jack interacts with any Moiras.

In addition to hearing the line, @epistimis and I weren’t able to hear any new Mercy-Moira lines, so
