Malefique On Fire
'Malefique' is both French for "evil, pernicious, or baleful" and the pseudonym of one of Moscow's most exciting beatmakers. His latest tracks are laden with old crooning European lovesong vocal samples which are sequenced spledidly over jiving bass lines. Malefique has no doubt mastered the ability to take just about any vocal clip and transform it--from something you would only ever expect to hear coming from a phonograph on a 1930's French promenade or in an underground billiards game in a smoky American pub--into a hip-hoppy-bounce beat. Recently, Malefique has been exceedingly prolific, as he just released a six-track beat set of sorts, thoughtfully entitled "vol. 1", alongside a handful of other unassociated beats. Check out Malefique's latest works below, including the guitar sample-driven "To Fall In Love", the vocal virtuosity of "Last Gleaming", the wonderfully glitchy banger "Colabwoy", and the mysterious piano track "Moon Glow" the lead track on his new beat compilation.
