The cold is coming. Yesterday was near 60˚ while today is down to 40˚ and tonight will be in the high 30′s. It’s time to take my mukluks from storage, match pairs of mittens, find the socks with no holes and build layers. I hate it when my nose gets cold.
Despite the chill, winter sometimes redeems itself. I love the crunch of frost under my feet when I cross the lawn to get the papers. I stand…
It's Winter and Michael fucking hates it. Sure, usually he's in Austin but this year he went with Gavin back to England for Christmas. It's not the first time he's met Gavin's family so at least that's not awkward. They'd been dating for the past 2 years and it was going great. They had fights but cmon, its Gavin of course they've fought. He loved his British fuck with all his heart though, hence why here he was...fucking freezing in the middle of a snow covered park. He and Gavin went out for a walk because it was so beautiful out. They'd bundled up and weren't too cold at first but that was 20 minutes ago and now Michael just wanted warmth. Gavin went to the closest coffee shop to get them drinks but left Michael standing and waiting. He watched the snow fall and wind blow things over.
It didn't take too long for Gavin to get back with the coffee. He handed Michael his and they continued their walk throught the park. It was dark out so there wasn't much going on, but it was nice. Simply being together seemed to put a smile on Gavin's face. A smile from Gavin meant a smile for Michael. No matter what, if Gavin was smiling theres a 90% chance that Michael was too. He loved seeing his boi smile, especially if he was the cause. Soon enough the silence got unbearable for Gavin and he began to ramble. Michael wasn't paying much attention; he just liked hearing Gavin talk. They've known each other for so long but he still loves that dumb accent. Gavin just kept rambling on, something about what powers Vav would have and about legs not knowing they're legs. He's discussed that with him so many time that he's memorized his arguement. The could was now nipping at any part of Michael that was exposed. His nose, his mouth, his ears, basically his entire fucking face and it was getting really cold.
"Gav...shut the hell up. I'm freezing and your random theories aren't helping."
"Oi, sorry Micool. I'll try to warm you up." Gavin smiled grabbing Michael's hand without his coffee. They stopped walking and Gavin turned Michael toward him. They stood there holding each other and their coffees for what seemed like ever. After awhile Michael felt a snowflake land on his nose and Gavin giggled. He looked up at the tree they were currently standing under. It was honestly beautiful with all the snow on it. He lowered his head back down to look at Gavin. His eyes were shining and he looked kinda nervous.
"What's up babe? You look like you just walked into class without pants." Michael laughed.
"I'm fine, just thinking about some stuff and freezing my nob off."
"Well don't do that. What will I play with later," Michael winked, "We can go home if you want. What's on your mind?"
"My nob will be fine for you to play with don't worry," Gavin laughed, "I don't wanna go home. I wanna stay here, I'm just thinking about how lucky I am."
"Wipe that smirk off your face; fucking pleb." Michael smacked him but the blush on his cheeks was still evident even though he was already a bit red. Gavin just smiled and looked into Michael's eyes.
"I really am lucky to have you. You're the best thing I've ever had. You're a prick sometimes and we fight but I wouldn't change it for the world. I love you Mikey. Your eyes light up my day, your laugh fills my stomach with butterflies, your anger at a game is either adorable or hilarious, your curl are the best, especially in the morning, but I really love your freckles. They sorta remind me that you're not perfect, and honestly that makes you perfect to me. You're perfect FOR me. I love you Michael Jones..." Gavin paused and lowered down to one knee.
"Will you marry me?" he asked pulling a box out of his coat pocket. Inside was Michael's TND diamond necklace. "I haven't gotten a ring yet because I didn't know your size so this will do for now...if you'll have me."
Michael was staring wide eyed at him there in the snow. He couldn't move, he was shocked. Gavin was still on his knee in the snow.
"Was kind of expecting an answer by now..." Gavin trailed off. He was still waiting and getting more nervous every second. He was 89% sure Michael wanted to marry him too..but maybe that was just wishful thinking.
"Micool..." he whispered hoping to get a reaction now. Still nothing, "I'm sorry...I shouldn't have asked..." Gavin quickly got up to his feet and stared at the ground.
"You...ASSHOLE!" Michael screamed but as Gavin looked at him he was smiling.
"Wot? I...what'd I do?" Gavin was confused and still pretty sad.
"Yes I'll marry you but you asshole! I was gonna propose!" Michael exclaimed pulling a box out of his own pocket. "We even had the same fucking idea."
Michael opened the box to reveal Gavin's TND creeper necklace. Gavin's face instantly lit up.
"You'll marry me?!" he smiled.
"Of course I will you asshole. I was pausing for dramatic affect."
Gavin was estatic. He hopped into Michael's arms causing their coffees to splash in their hands. They soon pulled away and leaned forward to kiss. Lips and tongues were fighting for quite some time, then they just stood there with cold noses and cold coffee.
This was the beginning of the rest of their lives. They couldn't be happier.
