there is SO much to love at ceraunabolla, an italy-based etsy shop specializing in layered soaps. how GORGEOUS are these layered bars?! love the mix of scents, the rustic packaging, the colors and textures that combine into the finished products. this featured listing is a combination of eucalyptus and lemon, with chopped bay leaves and marigold petals as accent. beautiful!

Handmade Cold-process Potato Household Soap

I got two free bars of potato household soap from this Taobao seller. I was very surprised because I had made two separate small orders from the same seller (never ordered from this seller before) and I didn’t spend much but she put a full-size bar in each order! Is she really making a profit?! These are not the usual measly samples I get, most of which are smaller than my finger!

Benefits of potato juice household soap:

can be used for lingerie (and laundry in general), washing dishes and other cleaning purposes around the house

only natural ingredients are used

totally biodegradable and environmentally-friendly

Anyway, what I had ordered was this bright blue handmade acne soap. What attracted me was the color which is totally natural and the result of 6% 青黛 (a kind of Chinese herb used in Traditional Chinese Medicine) powder.

The soap I ordered and the potato soap is not in stock but the seller has this fascinating soap on sale.

First time I’ve seen soap made with Chinese bayberry wine though I’ve seen several sellers make soap with home-brewed pomegranate wine (I just bought one tiny ball of hand-milled pomegranate wine soap.). So fascinating! Not cheap though at 79 rmb. Hope this will be in stock while I save up for it...

Will definitely order again from this seller if the soap works well. I have so much handmade soap stashed away that it will probably be a long time before I get around to this seller’s soap though. I’m a soap-hoarder the way my father hoards bags of brown rice.
