Protection || Calliope & William
Echoes of footfalls danced through the darkened streets, the sliver of moonlight easily drowned out by the constant buzz surging through the street lamps lining the roads. Not a thought of caution reached his mind as William moved through the streets; curfew be damned. The shadows of back alleys beckoned him close with the promise of shelter from the prying eyes of those meant to keep Ricardo’s laws, but William refused to weary himself with concern when time was crawling through the minutes William desperately clung to. Although he knew little of the situation, William knew Calliope was in some form of trouble - enough that Nico had reached out to him. The concern for her well-being and the cynical unknown elements of the situation taunting him were enough to encourage his feet to fall faster across the pavement.
He allowed a single breath of relief when he finally reached the apartment building. Scarred knuckles collided with heavy wood as William knocked on Calli’s door with a desperate pace. Bouncing from foot to foot in a fit of frayed nerves, William tried to keep the anxiety from overcoming the calm mask placed upon his face. Seconds ticked by like the flutter of a bird’s wings, quick and agile against the friction of time. When his hurried succession of knocks remained unanswered, William surged forward against the door once more. “Nico? Calli? Open up!” he called through the heavy wood of the door. “It’s William.” He did not spare any concern for the volume of his voice in the near silent night of the apartment hallway. Tinges of worry wrapped themselves in his words as he brought his fist down against the wooden barrier once more.

William: What do you know about a girl named Claire?
@coldcalliope
Telling Gabe one hundred percent of her issues was out of the question. As much like a brother as he was, she wasn’t willing to put it all on him. Nor did she even think he might understand some of it either. So Claire was grateful when Calliope agreed to let her come over, and she knocked twice before waiting patiently at the door.
