Earth-X: The Earth that everyone in the multiverse avoids. The Thawnes, the main benefactors of the fascist regime, had two identical sons–Malcolm and Barry. Malcolm is the perfect son–ruthless, vicious, and loyal to Dark Arrow. Barry, on the other hand, is quiet, compassionate, thoughtful, and believes that the regime is evil and needs to be torn down.
When the Thawnes find out that Barry is bisexual, they realize that it’s the perfect opportunity to get rid of him. Barry barely gets away with his life, only to be captured by the resistance. Knowing he’s a Thawne, they plan to use him against his family until they find out about the disgraced Thawne son. Citizen Cold, of all people, speaks up on his behalf, believing that Barry is different than the rest of his family. So, Barry Thawne joins the resistance.
He and Leo Snart get closer, Barry taking on the name ‘Scarlet Spirit’, after Leo’s nickname for him and his ability to sneak around and collect info without being caught. Eventually, both admit to each other that their feelings have grown past being brothers-in-arms. Less than a year later, the two get married.
From there, however, their troubles grow. Malcolm has been tasked with tracking down his twin brother. Barry refuses to kill his own brother. Malcolm has no such indecision.
Years pass, and Leo forces himself to move on from his dead husband. He meets Ray Terrill, who helps him heal from the pain of his loss, and by surprise, he falls in love again.
Then, another Earth’s Barry gets dragged to Earth-X…
